May 19th, 2012 05:56 PM #61you guys shouldn't forget about the Tuskegee airmen who beat the German Luffwaffe Elite Pilots. The Tuskegee US African-Americans who were give hand-me down WWII planes against the first jet fighters planes of the Germany army (and the world). in the battle of Normandy (D-Day), halos walang nagawa ang German elite sporting jet planes sa Tuskegee. and what about the battle at sea, when lesser Canadian battleships w/c were tasked to guard the English Channel vs. the German Uboats (or the first submarines). kung nakalusot U-boat, ubos ang invasion fleet ng Allied Forces sa beach (yun sa Saving Private ryan)
and syempre, yun Villamor. ngaun kase pag sinabi Villamor, either air Force one or sugal ang first thing comes in mind. Villamor was an ace filipino fighter pilot who downed 52 Japanese planes during the Jap bombing run. lumilipad pa nga siya sa ilalim ng tulay eh
am just saying, we are ill-equipped pero technology can do just much, nasa will and fighting spirit ang magpapanalo sa'tin. The Chinese are getting too comfortable with technology. that can be a disadvantage in war

Philippines takes delivery of SF-260F primary trainers
5 Nov 2010
The Philippine air force has taken delivery of its first four Alenia Aermacchi SF-260F primary trainers, with 14 more expected to be handed over in the first quarter of 2011.
The aircraft were manufactured in Italy, but assembled locally by Aerotech Industries Philippines. The first examples were originally scheduled for delivery in 2009, but "contract issues" with Aerotech resulted in the delay, the air force says.
The arrival of the aircraft should alleviate the 150-170 pilot training backlog that has been accumulated, the service says, adding: "We hope to get the line moving again."
Before the arrival of the new SF-260Fs, the Philippine air force had only 14 operational trainers: 10 Cessna T-41 Mescaleros and four SF-260s.

I think you watched RED TAILS and believed its historically accurate...Gamit nila nga sa movie against the ME-262s were P-51Ds, not exactly hand me downs P-40Es.
And I never knew the Canadians had battleships during WW2, because they never had to begin with...
World War 2 Canadian Ship Listing
Or the Germans never had submarines before WW2. I wonder what sank the Lusitania during WW1?
At saan nakuha mo info may 52 kills si Villamor? Mas magaling pala siya sa top WW2 US ace na 40 kills lang...WOW PARE HEAVY!!!
Upon his return to the Philippines, Villamor was assigned to lead the 6th Pursuit Squadron (now 6th Tactical Fighter Squadron) shortly before the Japanese invasion of the Philippines in December 1941. In the skies above Zablan and Batangas Fields, against Japanese Zeros, his squadron of P-26 fighters engaged the enemy. Despite the disadvantage, Villamor and his squadron was credited with four kills- one Mitsubishi G3M bomber and three Mitsubishi A6M Zeros. Two of them were personally shot down by Villamor himself. After his squadron was destroyed, Villamor continued his war against the Japanese as an intelligence officer.Last edited by Monseratto; May 19th, 2012 at 06:27 PM.

yung mga sf-260s madami na tayo nabili nyan....
starting in the early 70's (panahon ni Marcos) a total of 48 units were purchased, comprising of 32 units SF-260M (for Mentor)) and 16 units SF-260W (for Warrior, the armed version).
during the time of Cory there were 18 SF-260TP (for TurboProp) that were ordered, then delivered during the time of Ramos. They also converted some of the M and W models to TP by replacing the piston engines with turboprop powerplants.
the latest delivery of 18 units are the SF-260F (piston engine, Fuel injected) models, completed in April 2011.
di naman sinabi dun sa report kung anong model yung bumagsak.

the Canadians had battleships and they were up against German-Uboats with snorkels - ang nagpasimula ng submarine. google u-boats.
---
Villamor downed a total 52 planes - bomber and fighters combined. pag sa ace record na sinasabi mo eh di pang-dog fight yan fighter plane vs. fighter plane.
