Sa bahay namin sa pque hindi nag BO tapos dito sa office namin sa Santa Cruz Manila area mga less than an hour lang nawalan ng kuryente.
Pero yun malapit sa amin na tayuman, gabi na nagkaroon ng kuryente.

OT: If there's anything that will come to a heated political debate in the near future, it'll be power rates because, apart from taxes, it's the single biggest drain on a person's salary or wages.
Johnny Enrile was brilliant to use the issue of PPA (power purchase agreements with take or pay provisions) in his earlier political campaign as it appealed to a broad group of voters (rich, middle class, poor) regarding high electricity costs in households. I wonder why other aspiring senators or congressmen haven't followed suit.
yesterday nasa zambales ako, black out din sa southern parts. well i first noticed it when we were at cabangan already and the lights were out all the way to subic. did not notice it at sbma, may mga power generators sila.
ganyan talaga ang protection features ng isang power grid. if the load goes more than 100% it will automatically lower the load by switching off sections (service stations, where you have the transformer farm). OR if a power station (generator) falls off line or goes out of sync (due to some problems internally) it will kick out that power station from the grid. if that happens and the load goes above 100% and the other generators will be overloaded before the load can be lowered then the safety features in the power station will automatically cause the power station to go off line to prevent it from overloading. that is the most probable reason why 6 power stations went off line and several service stations were cut off, to prevent the power stations from damage and to lower the load on the generators that are still on line.
Went on panic mode yesterday. Bought a bunch of batteries since my rechargeables weren't juiced up. When i got home me ilaw na(not that i'm complaining).
Medyo malayo po ang connection, but i'm reminded about how the Japanese reacted during the last earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disaster. For the longest time i thought to myself, deym, iba talaga ang Japanese, selfless, tumutulong talaga. Then i read this interview where one person said they were confident that the Japanese government would help them out.
Dun lang ako natauhan; i'm not implying anything bad about the Japanese people, but i guess at some level they can "afford" to be generous because they feel their government can and will back them up. Sadly i can't say the same for us with the same level of confidence.
