Inconvenienced should be the proper term..yong kawawa mga namatayan at yong nasa ICU..latest from Mar on this evening news all centralized gas system equipped buildings at BGC must have a working (kahit made in china?) gas detector instrument properly installed / reticulated into each condo unit and regularly monitored by government agency, among others, bla bla ...get original copy of approved vendor specifications and maintenance manual para walang kawala..hwag magtipid sa photocopy galing sa kung saang recto lang na mga 19kupongkupong copying machines..ibang klase talaga..

My friends who lived in that condo along Osmena Highway that was affected by the gas pipeline leak we're left to hang dry when the incident first occurred.

I just got word that the piped on gas to SERENDRA 1 & 2 will be permanently shut off. That seems to imply a SYSTEMIC problem rather than an isolated incident.

In exchange for the loss of piped in gas, the residents will have their piped in gas ranges replaced by electric ones. That sounds ok until you realize that the cost of electric cooking is higher than gas cooking. So anyone on a budget will see their bills jump up considering the onerous electricity rates in this country.

So in the end, the unit owners are left with an expensive "solution" for their cooking requirements.

Personally I doubt if the unit owners and residents will settle for this solution. I would think they would file protests to let them use LPG stoves. LPG tanks use odorized-LPG which would have avoided the explosion since the smell would have been detectable even in very small amounts.
