    MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Taguig police on Friday evening, May 31, confirmed that a loud eplosion rocked a posh enclave in Taguig and sent shockwaves to different parts of the city.

    Netizens on Friday said the explosion happened in Serendra, a first-class commercial and residential area in Taguig City.

    Witnesses reported the explosion at around 8 pm on Friday.

    In an interview on dzMM, building tenant Rene Boy Suredo said the explosion produced thick smoke. “Nagulat ako. Gumalaw 'yung building,” he said. (I was shocked. The building moved.)

    Twitter users posted photos and videos of the explosion.
    My friends were in the area when this happened!! It was felt even at SM Aura.

    Patay negosyo ngayon friday night ang mga business establishment sa area nayan. Malaki mawawala kasi weekend pa naman.

    Not just tangke... not quite sure, but I think their gas is centralized, so it could have been a whole crapload of gas if the valve was left open.g

    I would avoid going to those places, or until that BCDA/Ayala et al. - SM fiasco is resolved.

    Has Serendra management allowed the police yet into the condo complex? You can see the starex van beside the Abenson van. It seems the van bore the brunt of the wall...

    The Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal of the P30-million damage suit against Alveo Land Corporation and two other companies over the 2013 Two Serendra blast due to a legal procedure technicality: the petitioner and her counsel failed to show up during the pre-trial.
