hmmm...saan kaya sya pupulutin? saan kaya bagsak ng career nya? sana hindi sa *toot*
hehehe hindi naman siguro.. sabi nga nya weeeeyyt...
so let's just wait and see... ;)
makikisawsaw, i think one of the prices that she can get in the pageant is having a seminar on how to speak and learn fluently/excellent in english language. imo maybe before the miss world pageant mahusay na sya magsalita ng english.. wala na tayong magagawa kasi nanalo na, all we need to do is support and pray na makuha natin ang first ever title ng ms world..
I have a few beers in me so....My 2 cents......
I may get labeled as a pig because of my views on beauty pageants. But, what the heck. My wife's cousins have all called me a pig at one time or another. Even my wife calls me a pig sometimes. And yet, she still loves me. He He
Anyway, my observation on most beauty pageants is..... physical appearance far outweighs brains. I mean bigtime. I think the same way. I rather watch a tall, pretty, shapely, busty, long-legged woman strut her stuff around than hear what she have to say.
Why? Well, obviously I'm a guy. Of course I want to see long-legged ***y women (in skimpy attire). The last thing on my mind is their intellect or personality. Why? There's no way to know what the intellect of each contestant is unless they actually took a test. That's not likely to happen. This isn't Jeopardy, the game show.
Personality? Forget it. No one can see what their personalities are really like because they all have their game faces on. How to tell? Well, all the contestants have to keep smiling throughout the contest. There's no sane person who can keep a smile that long unless forced to. Someone try it and see. Me? I can't smile for more than a minute unless I have dirty, wet, and nasty thoughts in my head. He He.
These women have all undergone pre-pageant coaching. That's what most people see and not their real personality. They all seem to act the same, almost like the brainwashing recruits undergo during basic training.
The only way to really see their personality is when they let their game faces down. Not an easy thing to do when you're alone and millions of eyes are upon you. With #15, she tried the game face thing by feinting confidence. But, it came crashing down and she was left exposed. The only option for her was to be honest and admit she's not really confident. It was a much better move than trying to put her game face back on and BS-ing her way out.
With more coaching, I'm sure #15 Janine will have a rock-solid game face by the time she competes internationally. Any schmoe can be trained to look and act smart. But, it's her looks that's much harder to come by. She can't fake the bod, the legs, the boobs, the face....unless she has a lot of money.
Personally, I rather see a talent show than hear them talk with questions and answers. You can't fake talent.

melanie marques put philippines in the lime light after winning miss international, and mrs. international, her english wasnt that good either but she is smart enough to carry herself well to surpass her flaws.
probably those are the qualities judges were astound off=)
Relax lang kayo..... Kaya nga Beauty Pageant eh..... Its all about beauty...
Ang % ko jan eh
45%= Face value
50%= Body
5%= brains
Kung battle of the brains or spelling bee yan eh doon kayo magkareklamo kung palpak mga sagot.... :bwahaha:
example... eto totoong nangyari, yung officemate ko dati, marunong naman mag inggles, pero hindi magaling. tinanong siya ng client nung nag client call kami, "Do you want some softdrinks or water?" ang sagot niya "Anything else sir." hindi ? kasi ang ibig niyang sabihin ay kahit ano pero ang sinabi niya ay iba hehehe.

Kahit palpak magsasagot si #15 at madaming ayaw sa kanya, welcome na wecome siya sa bahay any day![]()
tama. beauty pageant nga ito. give us that killer smile and looks. strut that devilish curves and make us drool over that hot, luscious body. ganyan ang tunay na beauty pageant titleholder! hehehe!!
almost 90% of the time naman sa isang beauty pageant e pinalalakad ang mga kandidata so, siguro 90% nga ng criteria e makukuha sa ganda ng face and body. manood na lang siguro ng mga quiz shows kung gusto ko ng matinong mga sagot. (antaray!)![]()
I to think she is a graduate of UE...
Ruffa, Melanie have their say on Bb. Pilipinas-World faux pas
abs-cbnNEWS.com
Miss World 1993 Second Princess Ruffa Gutierrez had quite a mouthful of advice and encouragement for Janina San Miguel, the Bb. Pilipinas-World winner who sparked an outrage after she won.
San Miguel, who seemed to cave in to the pressure during the question-and-answer portion of the pageant, had a verbal breakdown and started speaking in atrocious English. This turn of events is still being discussed over the Internet, most savagely over YouTube, where her gaffes are viewed repeatedly, sometimes with sympathy but mostly as an object of ridicule.
San Miguel won the Bb. Pilipinas-World title and is set to represent the country in the coming Miss World beauty pageant.
In reaction to the outrage against the Bb. Pilipinas judges and San Miguel, Gutierrez proved herself a Miss Congeniality to the end. Speaking with ABS-CBN's Mario Dumaual, she explained why it's important for a beauty queen to show competence in her speech and thought processes.
"I believe that a beauty pageant should be judged not only for the beauty but for the brains. Kasi you're representing your country in an international competition. You're gonna be with different delegates from different countries so you have to represent the Philippines in the best way you possibly can.
So that's not just your... physical beauty and also the way you speak, the way you carry yourself. I mean, pangit naman sabihin ang mga Pilipinang, you know, hindi marunong sumagot, 'di ba? Hindi marunong mag-English. To think na 98 percent of our population ay nag-i-English," she said.
The former Miss World winner then added that San Miguel should not get discouraged by all the ridicule coming her way, and instead gather the strength and will to better herself.
"Binibining Pilipinas World has seven months. So dapat gamitin niya yung seven months na 'yon para i-challenge yung sarili niya. Mag-aral siya, mag-aral siya ng speech lessons; mag-aral siya how to have confidence, how to carry herself, at ipakita niya sa mga taong nagri-ridicule sa kanya, 'Aba, kaya ko 'to. Magsa-shine ako sa Miss World at gagalingan ko the next time," she said.
(She should use the seven months interim between now and the Miss World pageant to take speech lessons and learn to have more confidence and prove all her critics wrong.)
"But always remember, beauty with a purpose and beauty with brains," was Gutierrez final piece of advice.
Quotable queen
Still, another former beauty queen, 1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez could not help but offer her own advice to San Miguel. San Miguel has been compared to Marquez, who also has difficulty speaking correct English.
Marquez's own brand of mangled English has, in fact, become her trademark. So much so that she has authored a book, titled "Don't Judge Me, I'm Not A Book".
The book collects her most famous and hilarious malapropisms. Here's a sampling of those quotes:
"My brother is not a girl; he’s a gentleman."
"Don’t judge my brother; he’s not a book."
"I won’t stoop down to my level."
"I don’t eat meat. I’m not a carnival."
And of course, who could forget the message she gave to former husband Derek Dee at a showbiz talk show? She looked straight at the camera, and told her husband on national television:
“And to you, Mrs. Dee, I have two words for you: Ang labo mo!”
Now that San Miguel has captured the limelight because of her English, Marquez made this comment, which, unfortunately, is in Filipino:
"May karapatan siyang magkamali sa Ingles kung maganda siya (She has the right to make mistakes in English if she's beautiful)." With a report from Mario Dumaual
Exactly. Have some beer n chips, sit back and watch the beauties show off.
I also noticed most guys tend to rate a contestant's looks on a 1-10 scale. That's it. Otherwise, the contestants are all goddesses. Who cares how they talk.
On the other hand, observing (from past pageants) my wife, mother-in-law, other Pinays friends, plus a few girlie guys argue over each contestant, you'd think a fight's going to start* with all the swearing (towards the contestants). He he. Amazing! All these armchair judging........almost as bad as backseat driving.
* I couldn't always catch what they were arguing about. But, if I didn't know better, I thought they were jealous just by the tone.
When they get too loud and I come out to ask what's going on, they'd reply smiling, "Oh nothing. We're just watching the Miss USA beauty pageant". Then the ruckus would start anew.

I concur with Drey. How can she represent the country with that kind of answer? And yet she still won? Tsktsk...do I smell politics in this contest?
Kawawa naman ang Pilipinas...
for me it's not really the way you answer the question...but it's how you answer the question...the problem is,...janina wasn't able to answer the question in addition to the "way" she answered the question...if she have answered the question direct to the point even if it's barok english, instead of giving lame excuses...she would have received an applause instead of "boos"
my 2 cents peace!![]()
I think the problem is the judges and not Janina.
True...her English was barok, and true....she didn't really answer the question asked.
All she did was giving us an annoying "arte" slang, and a lame excuse of being inexperienced at just 17.
What makes it REALLY REALLY worst is that most of the judges favored her.
Hang the judges! Walang kasalanan si Janina. Spare her naman.
Janina! Nandito lang ako.....hehehe.![]()
