March 8th, 2010 01:13 PM #522009 Mazda 3 1.6V - Just got mine a couple of weeks ago and no complaints with it. Great ride and very easy on the eyes. Just surprised with the FC, I am averaging 11 km/L, combined highway and city driving. Hopefully, it isn't a fluke and it stays that way.

still very happy with my CX-7
fuel economy is improving also
before i reached the 1000km odometer mark, i was averaging 6.04 km/l on an average speed of 17km/h
at past the 1,000km odometer mark, i was averaging 6.45 km/l on an average speed of 17km/h
although for both runs, i did use different branded E-10 unleaded fuels. i have yet to make a definitive conclusion and determination though if the improvement in the FC is due to the fuel brand
i am still monitoring and will post my more specific data on the CX-7 thread

March 9th, 2010 12:38 PM #54I own a mazda 3 1.6 2009, im happy with it, 1st i got a problem with gas. so i research. i tried to find solutions. I discovered that having a 16' stock rims i must have a 32 air pressure and driving the car to the optimal level of 65-75 km/hr. it increase my fc by extra 2km. but i also found out since the mz3 has a heavy body that's why it uses more gas that civic. compare civic to mz3 the mz3 looks heavy but maporma than civic which looks light yet Fuel efficient. But i never regret that i bought mz3 over civic. atleast kahit papaano i learn to budget my gas usage.

April 9th, 2010 07:57 AM #55hi,
just got my m3 three weeks ago, not brand new though, a 2005 2.0R variant. Very happy with it, very good handling, better than my previous cars, civic esi and vti, its like driving the car with a strut bar installed on it... drive fast a corner and it will deliver... strong brakes also, it is there when u need it... the look is still good, though it is first released on 2004 d pa rin naiiwan sa itsura... the interior is very nice, the materials? not a cheapy one... Power? just floor it and there you go, u can feel its 148hp engine, leave the others eat your dust... Road noise? maingay nga lang, maybe the tires has something to do with it cause its a 50 series tire on a 17 rim... does not match the civics... don't know to those who are on the 15 and 16 rims. And one more thing matagtag and mejo matakaw, mine is 10-11km/l on mix city and highway (more on city but slight traffic only)... other than those, I'm happy and love this car...

April 21st, 2011 08:19 AM #561993 Mazda 323 Astina
1600 cc carbureted engine
This is the only car that didn't spin me out on the twisties.
But then again, back at the spinout days, I was way younger when I was driving the Lancer and broken-hearted when dragging the Civic, so maybe it's just me and not the car.
But then, I'm most confident driving the 323 than with any other cars I have owned/driven/lent by dad.
I used to think the H's double wishbone is a marvel, but the simpler set-up of the 323 can handle fairly as good enough.
Yes, the 323 is the slowest* in terms of straight line speed and top power but then, the 4G15 and D15B and QG13DE are EFI engines, and I'm halfway done on my engine rig yet.
I just love the way it handles, especially on the twisties with the low-profile tires on.Last edited by isa1023; April 21st, 2011 at 08:41 AM.

April 22nd, 2011 07:00 AM #60Why do I get an ironic impression that carb-fed Mazdas are more fuel efficient than the EFI versions (B6 DOHC of the Familia up to the current Z engines of the 3)?
Better to buy the similar-era clone starex 4x4 (not sure lang if local or imported but original lhd...
