Most of the fluid are in the torque converter.

Just got mine done yesterday, initial quote with all the BS is 17K+, told the SA don't need no decarb, it's a waste of money, to make the story short, managed to trim it down to 12.5K.

Previously I had it done outside for half the price but the not so good experience (leaking oil), I think I'm better off if done in the casa, hence.

Things that Casa wanted me to replace, except for the front shocks, are they really necessary for a 5 year old less than 50K mileage?

The below will make you weep.

    PARTS
    1 B60S34350G ARM ( L ) LOWER 1.00 PC 17,714.00 17,714.00

    1 BHS234900A DAMPER L FRT 1.00 PC 9,263.00 9,263.00

    Labor cost not yet included.

I think the casa is just following their SOP i.e., replacing parts after 5 years even if not really warranted.

suspension parts? i'd replace them only if they were already showing signs of significant wear, i.e., lagutok.
shocks? only if they don't un-shock anymore.
side mirror? what's wrong with it? and it's probably cheaper, off-casa.

Whoah!!! How are you using your car? Offroad? Rally? Are your struts/dampers leaking? My 3 turned 5, too, clocked a bit more than yours & it's silent & solid. I periodically check alignment & the numbers remain usually w/in spec & dial them back to precise toe & cam numbers.
I even found the stock dampers overbuilt...they refused to die & I had an unopened present of Koni FSDs waiting in the parts bin...[emoji38]

For the suspension bits, bring it to a nearby Servitek and get a second opinion. Free naman ang diagnostic nila.

Metro driving is already like off roading, lots of potholes due to endless diggings, and humps just to name a few. I've already replaced the rear shocks because of leaks and I had it serviced outside due to exorbitant casa prices. I think I need to get a second opinion as suggested, this is the first time I did not closely monitor the vehicle while being serviced, had to be somewhere else.

Just do a 3-4x atf drain and refill, shifting on all gears 3-4x before draining.

not really offroad. the suspension parts are just wear and tear stuff. they do fail. try to find a shop for the lower arm. some shops can replace the two bushings and that single ball joint. its way cheaper than replacing 2 whole lower arm assemblies.

Driver side mirror most of the time does fold/unfold, most likely due to people who would like to mess with other people's car while parked in a public parking space. Casa replaced this while still under Yojin, anyway not a big deal. Speaking of lagutok, I think there is though I have yet to see if it's leaking or not.

That was intended as a joke, anyway I had my rear shocks replaced by JP Wheels in Bicutan, but would welcome your suggestion re:shops.

    Thanks.

What shop that specializes on this would you recommend?

Key is finding replacement bushes (w/o the arm) that are OE equivalent or better, not just the garage who can. Australian brand Superpro has poly bushes for the BM/BN 3. Like Powerflex, they're tougher than OE. Drawback of PU bushes over rubber is noise once the lube dries. Longevity>squeaks, though.[emoji4]

    Thanks *travajante.

I live in the Metro, can this be sourced locally, ? Btw, pardon my ignorance, never been a tinkerer, are the pre-installed bushes made of what?

Locally? I doubt, but a lot of local offroad shops carry Oz-sourced parts. They might be able to help.
The factory arms come w/ rubber bushes pre-installed. Replacements are mostly inferior. PU bushes are more durable, but can firm up the ride & be noisier when the lube dries.
I've a set of Powerflex bushes ready for our old ex-daily...the stock ones still have a lot of life left, though.

Went to a repair shop and saw first hand what's underneath, I don't know why the casa want me to replace a ton of parts I've mentioned previously because there is nothing wrong with it, or so it appears. Anyway, I complained of a creaking sound whenever I go over a hump or pothole but they said there is nothing wrong with the shocks, however they want me to replace the suspension assembly. They said it has a leak but I can't see any, does this easily break?

Easy fix when changing everything. No more guess work and tracing of problem. Very PROFITABLE also for the casa [emoji16] . Unfortunately it'll break our wallets.

    Not advisable sir. Very expensive.

I think the creaking noise I've notice was also mentioned in the 2014 Mazda 3 thread. I'm not sure if this is the correct question to ask but does the lower control arm leak? How do you fix this without replacing the parts the casa wants replaced? Also, does anyone know any aftermarket brand for the control arm (OEM like quality)?

    TIA
