But hey, at least we know MazdaSpped Mazda3 is coming, but only in hatch form.

Anyways, still, no Mazda policy kami. Kapag hindi sablay ang current Mazda line-up, baka sakali.

my 2.0 gave me 6.7 sa first full tank ko. im now at approx 1300 kms and the last full tank i got a much improved 7.7 kms/ltr. city driving 'to along c5 papuntang makati. 50% cruising speed, 40% traffic, 10% zoom-zoom! i hope to reach 8.5 kapag na-stretch na talaga muscles ng makina. at 8.5 kms/ltr city driving, happy na ako. dos litros kc eh, and this is a far cry fr my previous choice civic 2.0 which i heard only gives 6 kms/ltr.
medyo OT pero piece of advice lang when gassing up para mas tipid kung baga.....gas up very early in morning like 6 am when the weather is cold. at this time, temperature of the gas sa stations are low and compressed, unlike kapag mga 3 pm when its hot and the gas is at higher temp and expanded. when you fill up early in the morning, mas madaming papasok sa tangke dahil compressed....ergo mas bang for our hard earned buck! hindi drastic naman ang difference, i should say, but with the cost of gasoline nowadays, don na ako sa maximum benefit. also, full tank til auto stop lang, para maka "breathe" pa yung gas sa tank kapag nag expand ito when your car bakes under the sun.
just a sidebar re my 2.0's handling...sarap talaga ito i-zoom-zoom!! i pass that flyover fr fort boni to buendia (and vice-versa) na may pagka-S ang kurbada ng flyover. when the road is clear, i couldn't resist na bumirit while threading those chicane's ala F1 driver...ang swabe talaga! ive tried a glxi lancer, vti civic, and heck even a toyota prado on this path and i feel a lot of roll (lalo na sa prado, hehe). the tires even give a hint of screeching making it pertintent to slow down (takot ako eh). pero with this mz3, kapit na kapit ang potenzas and napaka minimal ng roll....as if the car can anticipate the upcoming curve...walang biro mga bros. i felt most confident taking those curves with this car....walang minor-minor!
BMWish!!! true, its a bmw under a million bucks!
why : kung binata ka, daming pogi points.
why not : kung may asawa at pamilya ka. Impractical eh.
imo, you don't give up any practicality to the other compact sedans. the mazda 3 is as big and spaious as they are most of the time, and there doesn't seem to be much trade-off in ride comfort.
you may say na all car can do those curves but stubby nailed the right wordOriginally Posted by stubby
turning with CONFIDENCE is the word heck my civic can do those curves but will a lot less confidence hehehe kelangan pa mag rexona para may funk ang dating heheheh
lets do the funk ! lets do the first day funk heheh![]()
given the choice a mz3 or a fortuner
Id still get the mazda 3 just bcoz I feel the third row of fortuner is not comfortable as an innova I find the innova a better bang for the back than the fortuner.
Then I wasnt impress with the foruner parang it is not upscale as i had anticipated.
as u enter the vehicle sa driver side ang hirap pumasok ng legs ko dahil sa driving wheel. and fortuner is based on the innova kaya feeling ko pareho ang steering nito... mabigat can some comment on this
so bang for the back is still for me the mazda 3 bcoz i cant think of spending 1.2-1.5 million for a car thats like a fortuner.... only good looking sure it might look good pero the interior doesnt feel like wat im paying for in the end im quite disappointed with it.....

How impractical is this comapred to other sedans?! I hope you are not comparing the Mazda3 to the Fortuner :hihihi:Originally Posted by Mguy

I know its pointless to compare it. But its just me if tatanungin ako kung fortuner or mz3 its still pick mz3 feels much upscale than a fortuner
i 2nd that motion marv! here's a litmus test on how much i love this car......
my dad fell in love with the fortuner when it came out. at that time i already placed an order for the mz3. my dad proposed that i get the fortuner gas instead of the mz3 2.0. and to make me switch, he proposed to take care of the price variance of p270t! what a tempting offer! so here i was confronted with a choice between two rides that would already cost the same for me.
w/out a doubt, the fortuner looks great, best in its class in terms of looks, IMO. toyota has a great rep worldwide...entering F1 marked their zeal for techno breakthoughs and r&d. but the fortuner disappointed me....it looked great, but that's all folks. its a ride that makes you look good while on it but bores you while you drive it. it does have a steering wheel and a couple of seats w/c are standard features (hehehe....peace fortuner fans!), pero wala kang masyadong makalabit na gadgets and buttons that make driving more exciting. features pa lang yan...eh yung driving sensation pa that it gives the driver, w/c sadly i couldnt say much.
the mz3, on the other hand, is utterly zoom zoom! leather seats, auto-etc etc, macho looks, and a BMWish sensation! so much to say about this ride...much more than the fortuner. i know its comparing apples and oranges, but i chose a juicy red sweet fresh apple than an umm umm orange.....even if they would cost the same to me and even if the orange would call for a higher resale value years down.
as long as you can justify something like that...then so be it!!!!kainggit ka stubby!
This is not necessarily negative, but I don't like the spare tire they included with the Mazda 3. Its like one of those spares they use in the States, you know, like the size of a bicycle wheel (as narrow also). I dont know but driving a spare tire (even on short distances only) so radically different from the rest of tires can affect or unsettle the suspension since the car would run unevenly. The Focus is equipped with the same spare tire.
The interiors are very good in the 2.0l model. However, the cloth seating materials they used for the 1.6l are definitely cheap in feel and appearance.
Re: Mazda 3 vs. Fortuner.
If my current need does not require a vehicle of the Fortuner's size, then I would have gotten a car and that car would be a Mazda 3 2.0L, which is the best in its class. It seems totally better than the Focus and even the upcoming Civic (so far by a large margin in the looks department).
I agree with one of the previous poster who said that this car is "pang binata". Yung Mazda3 2.0L ay talagang maporma ang dating, so if you are in college or just graduated recently (i just did) bagay talaga ito (although the price is quite pricey for a youngster). But if you are maturing past that "looks" or "porma" stage and sooner or later family life will soon creep up on you, then you need to be practical and get the Fortuner. I guess since we use a car quite long (6-7 years), you have to think in long terms. My heart (emotions) says the Mazda 3 2.0l but the brain says the Fortuner.![]()
The Fortuner seems to feel cheap to some that is because it is really designed to be sold at an inexpensive price. For me, I am satisfied with it despite some minor niggles here and there. This car has the most bang-for-buck when compared to a new Pajero or Patrol costing double the Fortuner's price. Given no other upcoming new cars catch my eyes, I'm willing to wait until next year for the waiting list to clear and I hope those arrogant dorks from Toyota do not read this, otherwise lalaki lalo yung mga ulo nila.
Sorry sobrang OT![]()
Honestly, I'm just after the Fortuner's fording depth of 700mm and its cargo space. That's all. To sum it up, other than those, the Fortuner is an unspectacular vehicle to drive and ride.
number 001...you might be referring to the DONUT type spare tire....pang spare lang talsaga yun...many people nga here want to hae those eh.magaan kasi =)
