May 16th, 2017 10:49 AM #251I honestly thought ride comfort would suffer after changing the rim pero hindi po masyado nagkakalayo sa 16's. FC nagkaron ng 1-2L increase based on my observation and that is pure city driving, handling ay mas firm which I think is better.
I haven't tested full performance at yung difference ng 16's at 18's kasi until now nasa trunk at back seat pa din yung 4 na 16's as I dont have a place to keep it. Dala ko sya araw araw hahaha
Will let you know once ma-unload ko na yung 16's this weekend

The steering wheel buttons feel unusually cheap, and I hate the touch screen gimmickry of the volume button. They should've stuck with the steering wheel of the FB Civic, like in the HRV.
Otherwise, all other gizmos feel very well-made. When I test drove the FC and then went back to my FB, it felt like such an older car!
Enjoy your test drives! That's the best part of car shopping. Also consider the Jetta - I know diesels aren't your thing, but just take a drive with the Jetta so you know what's out there. 👍

I agree. The steering wheel controls do not have a premium feel. One of my gripes about it is the volume control on the steering wheel - I always accidentally change the volume when my hand grazes the controls (accidental swipe).
Also: climate control via the touchscreen - when I need to adjust the fan speed, I have to use the touchscreen. Dedicated controls would have been nice.
Audio system is so-so - had to change the speakers and add an amp.
The car is a joy to drive, though. Comfy, with power on demand (the RS) even at low RPMs. Overall, very pleased with the '16 Civic.

The speakers on the FC are so much better than the FB's! My FB sounds like laptop speakers. 😡
Also better than the Altis' speakers, though tends to feel overboosted on high volumes. I appreciate good sound but not really willing to spend on it, I can live with the stock speakers on the FC. I'll just have to relegate my iPhone for Spotify/Waze duties since Android Auto is limited so I can't use my main phone.
The climate control gimmick is something I don't like with all new Hondas. It's like they're all allergic to tactile buttons.
They should've taken a page from Mazda's playbook which makes smart use of a large screen and a useful knob ala BMW iDrive.

The speakers would have been fine, I guess. But my old ride was an '03 CR-V with an aftermarket audio system, so I did not want a "downgrade". I was also considering the Mazda3 with the Bose sound system, before finally deciding on the Civic. Added a JBL amp, Infinity separates, and a Kenwood underseat sub - it now sounds nice. Makes long drives more enjoyable, especially with the great NVH isolation

How's the Bose sound system on the new Mazdas? It seems this is the trend nowadays with car makers partnering with audio manufacturers (Mazda with Bose, Subaru with Harman Kardon, Mitsubishi with Rockford Fosgate, Nissan with Bose, VW with Fender, Lexus with Mark Levinson, and Ford with Bang & Olufsen).

I loved how they sounded when I took one for a test. But then, YMMV as I'm a Bose fan (home/computer/portable audio). Too bad Bose does not sell automotive audio speakers.
I would say, though. Infinity Kappa series, properly set up, sound really good. They just need a small sub to fill in the lower frequencies. (6.5" component speakers couldn't really deliver good low-end oomph IMO).
up for suzuki
