Ligaya drive is the most exciting (see... difficult) road to reach Tagaytay which is via Tanauan-Talisay Batangas road. A newbie in an MT will have a hard time traversing this road.
In going down, you will need to use a lot of engine breaking or else your break pads will surely suffer. Although for fellows coming from south of Batangas or Quezon, this could be the fastest route to reach Tagaytay especially if via STAR Tollway.

From Antero Soriano Highway, ano mas ok daanan (less traffic, mas hindi matarik):

Gen. Trias Dr - Gov. Ferrer Dr
    or
    Tanza - Trece Martires Rd

you will have a 2 options., via ligaya (sungay) road it takes 10-15minutes from Talisay batangas
Option 2 is via leynes road which is 30-40minutes away pero hindi difficult unlike ligaya rd

Into ata yung tawag nilang Bitukang Manok. Going up is better than going down. Some corners are steep & sharp. Those coming from Manila, it is not a practical route since you have to traverse the SLT & star tollway to exit Tanauan. Magastos sa toll, which defeats the purpose. OK to if you plan to go to Batangas city after Tagaytay.

Choose one and stick to it. parehas yang mild climb at walang traffic pero iba drive characteristics ng bawat isa. Tingnan mo google map with the elevation on.

I have traveled both but to me, a local of Cavite, there is nothing to comment about those routes.

DO NOTE, iba tayo ng definition ng mild climb siguro.

If so, yakang yaka mo na yung dalawang route na yan. Again, mild climb to tagaytay mga yan.

    Ayun, tiga Cavite!

May nagpayo, pinakamild daw talaga Aguinaldo.

    Re: traffic

hindi ko ma predict yan bro. naranasan ko nang mild traffic then pag dating mga 1km to rotunda ng tagaytay gumapang ako. I suggest, umalis ka ng Manila earlier than 9AM kasi malamang madaming kotse nang umaakyat nun.

    Re: construction

Rosa - Tagaytay. Rosa. :D

If I had a choice, I would stay away from Tagaytay on a weekend. Mas matraffic pa sa EDSA and C5 combined lol

Kung walang no choice, I would stay away from Aguinaldo and SLEX > Sta Rosa on the way up on a weekend mid morning. I have not tried going the cavitex > centennial > ferrer > amadeo route on a weekend morning pero may parts na matraffic din sa gen tri. Still, not as bad compared going the aguinaldo route na may perpetual repairs. Maluwag din usually yung Amadeo up to tagaytay, di din masyadong matarik. Trikes might give you a headache though.

Yung molino blvd > paliparan route, usually sobrang traffic sa SM molino / daanghari intersection, pero the rest of the way tolerable na.

We're planning to go to Crosswinds, Brgy. Iruhin Central Tagaytay. Which road is the easiest way to go there? The Sta.Rosa-Tagaytay Road or the Tagaytay-Calamba Road? And what is the name of that exit again to skip Sta.Rosa exit? We'll use that one pag pauwi to avoid traffic. Thank you!

Sta.Rosa-Tagaytay road is okay. Eton exit is the one next from Sta. Rosa exit as much as I can remember. It's much faster if you take that exit instead of Sta. Rosa (Because of tryks and jeeps). As for your way home, take the same route.

Another good alternative route from SLEX is Southwoods exit,- and pay the village toll - then right to Governors Drive,- and take left to Maguyam (road before Shell Gas Station) to Silang, and back to Aguinaldo Ave....

Sa mga naggo-golf sa Riviera in Silang,- this is their typical route.
