After this trip i now want to add some small suspension mods to the Altis (maybe i'll check out some of those Ultra Racing bars). With the 17s it was sweet on Kennon since i'm familiar with the road and the 6-speed gearing gave me a lot of powerband to play with on 2nd-3rd and 4th gears. On Marcos i still have to become more familiar with the road as i found myself quite sloppy on the way up (braking too early, turning too late as i was missing the lines due to the darkness and unfamiliarity with the turns).
The GS is a good road trip vehicle indeed and when the roads are straight the Altis will have a hard time passing or keeping up and you'll have the advantage of height to see further up front. Wifey and the kids are complaining about the space in the Altis as in my last few trips i'd take either the Grandia or Innova. But for me as a driver i enjoy the Altis more since i can drive it faster :D
