Went up last Friday night. Left our house at 9pm, had a quick bite at Mc Do in Petron Lakeshore then arrived at Petron Baguio rotunda at 12:30am. The route i took was NLEX - Mc Arthur (from Mabalacat all the way na) - Marcos Highway. Heading home i left the house in Baguio at 1pm and arrived in San Fernando Pampanga at 4pm. This time i took Kennon - Mc Arthur - Luisita - SCTEX - NLEX.
Kennon still had repairs but it's much better now then it was a few months ago; I had to wait at one section for around 2 minutes then it was all go. Overall, i still have more fun on Kennon Road as the bankings and turns seem to be better planned than Marcos Highway although you do have less runoff unlike in Marcos highway. While repairs are ongoing i'd probably still take Marcos highway at night as i noted that it's hard to spot some of the repairs that are placed right after some curbs and there are no warning signs at all.
First time i got to try my 6-speed Altis on a real deal long drive and i love the gearing indeed. My FC going up to Baguio was 13.30km/L while my FC going around Baguio (incl. traffic) and my trip going home (with more passing and high rpms) is estimated at 10.5km/L (i'll gas up tomorrow).
