Silica isn't always bad, sweeping generalizations are. I've driven cars with eco-tires that have decent grip even on inclines and wet surfaces. My friend even ran his Bridgestone Ecopias on the track without any problems.

Likewise, I've driven "sport" tires that aren't any grippier than regular tires. Aggressive tread patterns mean nothing if the tire compound is so-so.

I'd take a Japanese ecotire over a Chinese "sport" tire any day. The only acceptable Chinese tires for me are the Westlake Sport RS and Nankang NS-2R but these are extreme-performance track tires that wear too quickly for daily use. Lower end models like the Westlake SV308 and and Nankang NS-II are cheap but you get what you pay for.

Sidewall durability isn't something you can measure by feel. Yung iba naman basta same tread design ok na, but even then, ibang iba ang performance ng trusted brands. Anyway, nandiyan na yan, hopefully it lasts and gives good performance. [emoji1303]

Magkano ba per piece yang Roadshine and what size?

yung sakin kita mo pa talaga na makapal nung makuha ko.

btw sa roadshine sobrang mura, kaya 1st few hundred KM sobrang ingat ako and would only drive fast (for testing) eh pag halos ako lang mag isa sa highway.
so far ok naman. btw got them all 4 for less than 6k

    185 65 15 lang size

Yes but 5000 km ago, mukha pa yang makapal. From 0-35,000 km, it looked the same. But afterwards, saka naging visually recognizable na paubos na tread. It's possible that the tires have logged significant mileage before you got it, hindi lang halata. 10,000 km is too short, even for track tires. My friend with his V8 Mustang and Bridgestone RE71 track tires lasted 12,000 km and 4 track days. Ordinary sports tires like the A.Drive R1 should last at least 30,000 km if properly rotated.

Stay safe bro hopefully your tires last and don't cause you any accidents. [emoji1303]

Nasa treadwear indicator na ba yan nung pinalitan mo? Still looks thick enough for around 10,000 km.

Never had any problems with traction - it was good enough to make me win a time attack event against other people with track tires. I bought them for 3.3k (225/40R18). Should be much cheaper for your size.

If you're going for GT, I'd recommend the Champiro HPY, which are their high performance tires. Eco tires have generally crappy traction.

I don't see the point of getting China tires like Westlake when Achilles (Indonesian brand) costs about the same. GT is an even more established Indonesian brand though it's slightly more expensive. Same with Federal which is Taiwanese.

Bottomline - GT, Federal, and Achilles are the only affordable brands which I think are worth considering. Tires are one of the most important parts of your car and play a really big part in your safety, so I don't think you should skimp on them.

Makiki ask na din po sana
Para sa 195 55 15, ok po ba ang achilles atr sport? Wala palang 15's sa 2233. 90% of the car will only be used around marikina only and not a daily driven car. Farthest it may go siguro is tagaytay for like 2 times a year.

Get the ATR Sport 2 instead of the ATR Sport, newer model with a better compound. The ATR Sport has lackluster reviews, even compared to the lower-end 2233. The ATR Sport 2 is a big improvement. Check the GT 595 Evo as well. [emoji4]

Try Ben's OK in Banawe. That's where I bought my Achilles 2233.

    My Toyo stock tire, front.

How much is a 195/R15C tire from more established brands?

Should I Buy Tires Made in China? >> AutoGuide.com News

Chinese tires may be significantly more affordable but Edmonds said “we wouldn’t offer something we wouldn’t feel comfortable with.” Acknowledging these issues Mielko said “there are [Chinese] tires out there that are terrible,” but as he pointed out, it really depends on the brand you choose.

I've been trying to decide between the Federal SS657 (2,163 because of buy 3 take 1) and Toyo NE 03 (2,400) for the Vios. Looks like I'll be getting the Toyo. My Mazda 3 came with stock 16 Toyo NE tires and I'm happy with them.

The SS657 is also just a touring/eco tire, so between the two, I'd definitely go with the Toyo Nanoenergy for just 250 pesos more. [emoji1303]

Mastercraft is the budget brand of Cooper Tires, a midrange brand from the US.

How are the other AT tires priced?

Low budget yet good quality tires
