June 30th, 2017 01:22 PM #181Hi Tsikoters,
Need some help on deciding which tires to get. My current situation is:
Current Tire: Federal FD2 205 55 R16
Current Ride: GM6 - IHEd
Budget: Php 20,000
Driving Style: 80% City 20% Spirited Highway
Preferred Characteristics of tires: Balanced dry and wet traction, less noise than current tires
Treadwear should not be much of an issue as I do tire rotate every 5months or 5k KM whichever comes first and changes tires every 35k or 3 years whichever comes first.
Here's the result found as of writing.
Dunlop DZ102 - Noise after 50% of life
Yokohama S Drive - Hard to find
Toyo DRB - budget is a bit stretched without the 3+1 promo (TireShakk)
Hankook S1 Noble2 - soft sidewall according to reviews
Goodyear F1 D5 - budget is a bit stretched without the 3+1 promo (Goodyear)
BFGoodrich GForce Sport Comp2 - No dealer found as of yet

June 30th, 2017 01:44 PM #182I think the Yokohama Advan Fleva v701 will fit your budget nicely at 4,850/ea. SRP

June 30th, 2017 04:10 PM #183Thanks for the input, paps. Maganda review nya esp. Malaysian's, tropical weather same as ours, pero meron sa FB page mismo ng Yokohama PH meron nagsabi na may blown out. I was looking for Yokohama's response but found none. Hopefully someone can confirm if this is true or haters lang.

Saan yung nagsabi na sumasabog Advan? Baka naman yung A.Drive yan? Napakalayo naman ng A.Drive sa Advan.
And the A.Drive was only prone to bukol, not blowout.

June 30th, 2017 06:42 PM #188Makes sense. Those with complaints will make the most noise.
Anecdotal info from our side, although with a very small sample size... feeling ko bridgestones ride harder than the yokohamas but the yokohamas wear out faster.
Our small sample size on passenger cars with about 1 set each hahahaha:
Yokohama A Drives
Yokohama A300
Bridgestone Ecopia
Bridgestone Turanza ER30

Any feedback on the Falken Ziex ZE914 Ecorun? Was shopping for tires in DKC Marikina and from the tires offered this is the one readily available, and at a good price too. Also, as the staff say mas tahimik ito as compared to the current SP Sport 01 and the SP Sport LM704.
I was actually insisting on the LM704 pero sabi nga nung staff eh madali raw magbukol mga Dunlops ngayon, talk that I've read sa mga forums din. In fact, yung isa sa SP Sport 01 na nakakabit ngayon it seems eh me bukol din from the sounds of its tire noise.
Other choices are the Yokohama A.Drive and the Advan Fleva, but the price of these Falkens is really quite attractive.
Lol daig pa mismo ng ford na may surplus parts mula sa mga katay o parts-out na units kahit papano.
