The Kia Sedona/Carnival Thread [continued]

Hi Tsikoteers,

Just bought a 2nd hand 2000 Carnival LS w/ manual tranny. I'm a car owner before so I'm very much new to bigger vehicles and of course to a diesel engine. All that said, I need advise on the ff.:

Talaga bang mausok yung Carnival, lalu na if you step on the gas pedal?
The stock radio was replaced w/ a Pioneer stereo, kaya lang may butas tuloy kase mas malake yung orig, any advise as to how to cover that?
Di ko malaman kung saan yung pang bukas sa rear door w/o using the key, usually pag sa parking you need to open it for inspection.
Saan makakabile ng surplus na mga parts, lalu sa interior?
Yung fake wood panel puro gasgas, any advise on how to fix, repair or replace this?
Talaga bang maalog pag engine off?
Mahirap minsan ilagay sa 2nd gear, umaalog, normal ba to?
May tumutunog sa bandang gulong sa left side esp when turning, ano kaya problema?

Other questions on shops:

Any cheap tire dealer that sells Kelly, GT, Federal and the other tire brands? I'm from Pasig.
Sa novaliches ba yung bagksakan ng surplus for all Kia Carnivals?
Saan pwede mag pa interior detailing, hindi yung basta basta?
Anong shop yung magaling sa diesel engines?

I'm from Pasig nga pala, if you know some shops, pls include the telephone numbers. Hoping for some replies from the experts. Thanks in advance.

Talaga bang mausok yung Carnival, lalu na if you step on the gas pedal? Try to replace the Air filter, Fuel Filter, change oil then pabugahan mo po ng tubig yung tambutso pag nagpa carwash ka if ganun parin check the manifold and EGR baka my gunk.

If magawi ka po cavite, sa talaba po just before coastal flyover (going from SM Bacoor) meron pong surplasan all korean car baka makakita ka po ng pang cover or go to Sophia between imus and bacoor.

Im using under power battery which is Motolite Gold, medyo hirap mag start yung Sedona ko lalo na pag kapapatay pa lang ng engine, need to wait for 1hour for the car to start.
planning to replace my battery (kung ito nga ang culprit), nabasa ko kasi meron ang Atlas which is Carnival MF100L battery 100AH, anybody knows where i can buy atlas battery?
Cavite or Laspinas area po sana para malapit lang saamin.

Malayo yung Cavite, not sure kung mas malayo yung Novaliches pero I need more advise from the experts. Anyway, appreciate your quick response and answers.

Bago narin pala ang rims ng LX variant ng 2011 Carnival at power operated narin ang sliding doors at rear liftgate nya..Mayroon naring turn indicator lights sya sa side mirrors..

Sa EX variant naman ay standard na ang 2nd row Captain Seats!

First I don't own a carnival but I do have turbo charge crdi suv. Just want to share some thoughts that might help you solve your problem. Sharing is caring as what one of the tsikoteer here say.

4. pag sobrang tagal ng byahe mga 4 hours na byahe ung aircon humihina. Possible that the evaporator is clog due to ice formation. Test to see if the auto cut-out of the compressor is working. Pag hindi nag auto cut-out ang compressor clutch magyeyelo ang evaporator coil kasi tuloy-tuloy ang andar kahit malamig na, pag sobrang lamig magyelo na siya, ang hangin hindi na makadaloy kasi barado ng yelo. My advise is change the thermistor, wag mo palitan ang expansion valve ( the SA will recommend the change, wag ka pumayag) dahil no problem ito. Sabay na rin ang cleaning ng evaporator kasi babaklasin din naman yan pag nagpalit ng thermistor.

Hindi mag karoon ng wheezing sound kapag sira ang turbo. usually sasayad ang turbo impeller kapag sira ang bearing kaya hindi maka revolution ng normal speed which will cause very low boost air and high exhaust gas temperature. Will also cause black smoke kasi kulang sa hangin. I highly suggest that you clean the egr, check & confirm that no boost air leakage (connection turbo to inlet manifold good & tight), clean air filter. Gawing mo lahat ito and see what is the result. Mahirap sagutin ang unang tanong pero komporme sa actual status/condition ng sasakyan.

Goodgear ay nasa taft ave, pasay city. right side coming from edsa LRT station. May mga hyundai starex kadalasan sa tapat.

good eve po mga sirs... i just bought a 2002 carnival park... when im checking my engine bay may napansin po akong tube na pinutol.. gusto ko lng po sanang malaman kung para saan po ito at kung ok lng ba na putol po ito.. i attached an images mga sirs... and can you help me or meron po ba kayung translation sa korean words sa fuse box.. thanks po

I got my Atlas battery at Kia Pasay around Dec of 2009 for 9k++ with 18 mos warranty. Almost twice as expensive as most underpowered 2SM batteries but does address the charging problem. If left unattended in the long run, it will be more costly as it will damage not just your existing battery but the alternator as well. This I had to learn the hard way and after spending almost 20k when the only solution to the problem is the stock Atlas battery.
