Weird nga.. Si Hyundai required nila na full synthetic ang gamit.. Pero sa kia hindi... Kudos to Kia.

This is their usual response to bringing your own oil. They used about 200ml~ of the excess 1L to fill it to Full mark. Now I'm using it for topping-up.
I also went to Kia Alabang to get a quote. The only difference between your actual and my quote from them was the oil - I forgot how much they are asking for the Zic RV fully-synthetic oil which is the factory specified oil. But I'm sure it's significantly more than what they quoted you per liter
If KIA Alabang used Zic RV, kakaibang negotiation skills na yan, hehe!
You can opt for a visual check on the AC filter before replacement, just to save a few grand. Depending on use, its possible that your AC filter is still relatively clean (i.e. non-smoker, always on recycle [forgot the actual term], etc).
If I'm not mistaken, Hyundiai was also like this during the start?

How come? 4.1L lang ang oil capacity ng Theta II.
Their "new company policy"
Actually their "new money making scheme"
Walanghiyang HARI yan.
Zic siguro gamit nila?

November 16th, 2012 12:21 PM #37Question guys. My Optima is around 3 months+ old and has clocked around 4.5k in the odo.
The casa has been bugging me for the PMS. Is it fine to wait for the car to clock 7.5k odo then PMS? I read that the first PMS for gasoline engines is 7.5k.

January 14th, 2013 04:55 PM #38malapit na akong mag 5000 kms.. I called kia north edsa and i can bring my own oil and filter daw. bayad lang ako ng P 550, tutal free naman daw yung labor sa 1st PMS.
Then I called seiring and they offered two choices --- Zic RV ( 6 Liters ) P 1900.00 and Kixx RV ( 4L ) P 1250. OIl filter is P 400 ( cartridge type daw ito ). Ok ba kahit zic or kixx ang kunin ko ? parehas namang fully synthetic ..
kung sa casa ko kukunin lahat, it will cost roughly P 4.1k, free labor daw. kung sa akin naman yung oil and filter around 3400.00 ( including corkage ).
unless may casa in QC na walang corkage fee.

AFAIK, Zic RV is FS, Kixx Turbo RV is SS. Zic UP is the equivalent SS.
According to IMm29 in the Hyundia http://tsikot.com/forums/hyundai-car...87/index4.html section, you could get the Zic RV for P1.4K~ per 6L from Jared in Sulit last September. Ako naman Zic Up, kuha ko before is PHP 825 / 4L at PHP 225 / 1L from the same guy.
I had the same issue before, I went Zic since its the brand that the Kia recommends (not that I care much about Casa oil recommendations but still) and after some research, it seems better and a few guys are recommending it.
