i just called my dealer today. they said that they just raised the price of the automatic to 425K. the only inclusion are body-colored bumpers with 14 inch rims. im really dissapointed by this event. im pulling out my reservation fee coz i dont think it's rational for them to increase their price by 50k (from 375k) and add body-colored bumpers only! they said columbian motors issues the memo to raise the price of the car so i guess this is true for all dealers. now im beginning to believe that kia is going down with this move. they're going to lose a lot of customers who have reserved months before for their units only to find out that they have increased that much.

sana ipasok ng ibang manufacturers yung mga small cars nila para totally matabunan na ang kia, like toyota "ist", nissan "march" at yung isuzu "swift"

It is actually illegal for Columbian Motors to increase the price once the buyer has already given a downpayment. By giving a down, we are actually agreeing to buy the car at that price and they are willing to sell at that price. If they cannot guarantee the price, huwag silang kumuha ng down.

Would you do business with a company like Columbian motors.

dito naman sa saudi, kakalabas lang ng picanto at LX lang ang available with black bumper may kamahalan nga e (Php355K) at di daw nila balak ilabas ang EX at SE model. kaya iba na lang ang kinuha ko. mas gusto ko kasi yun Picanto SE.

Wow mga pare. Lugi ang mga consumers sa ganoong style ng Columbia. Masuwerte lang talaga kaming mga first batch ng Picanto. Its not the car's fault but the distributor of the car.

The car is really good. As a user I am very very happy with it. Pero sa mga naririnig ko sa mga gustong bumili. Turn-off yung strategy ng Columbia. Cheap car pero pinepwuesto sa presyong ng Benz. Whoa hindi naman dapat ganoon.

Pati accessories mahal na din. Gustong bentahan ako ng rear spoiler at almost P10K. Ano iyon ginto?

For a car like Kia, the distributor is everything dahil ano ba ang Kia brand dito sa atin. They have not earned the respect of brands like Toyota or Honda. So the distributor must work hard to earn the trust and respect of the consumers.

Ang problema sa Columbian Motors, umpisa pa lang sila winawalanghiya na customers nila. Medyo bumenta lang ng konti yung saskyan nila , ' take advantage ' kaagad sila sa sitwasyon. Wala sila tuloy control sa mga dealers nila dahil yung kalokohan naguumpisa sa distributor.

Long-term wise, wala kang mapapala sa ganoong klaseng kumpaniya. The " KIA " brand can never build goodwill sa ganoong pamamalakad.

prices for Kia Picanto are as follows:

i found out that the difference is in the package itself... with Kia Q.Ave, it does not include the Body Color... with Kia Commonwealth, Body Color is included in the package.

sipag mo naman, eheheh. Thanks for the info about the latest Picanto prices. I don't want to sound like an apologist for the Kia dealers (those dealers deserve the resentment they get from customers) but in the interest of information, can anyone also post the latest prices of the Toyota Vios or the Honda City so we can compare how much they increased their prices to date from the time when the Picanto was introduced (September, 2004.) That way we can have a better perspective in "judging" the dealers- Kia or otherwise.

For example, in September 2004, Picanto sold for P330th (now P360th);
Vios 1.3E- P558th
City 1.3A- P539th

I read in another forum that Toyota introduced a more basic Vios 1.3J for P588th. If this was correct then the Vios 1.3E would even sell for higher. Correct me if this was wrong info.

My point is, if everyone else was jacking up prices, why would Columbian Motors with their propensity to increase prices be an exemption? But if Toyota and Honda kept their original Vios and City prices to date, then Columbian Motors really sucks, big time!

Based on the info in this thread, the current difference in cost (between P10th and P30th) for a body colored Picanto is just too much in my opinion! It used to be only P5th to body color black parts of the car (November 2004 at Signet Mandaluyong!)

a bare vios 1.3j costs 538k only while the vios 1.3e is still the same at 558k. i think they haven't increased their prices yet since the models came out.

what is the difference between the standard and deluxe picanto? i think the 50k increase of the A/ T picanto is just too much considering they added only body colored bumpers. i'm pulling out my reservation soon. i'm considering getting a honda jazz or just a 2nd hand A/ T civic or corolla. at least, i know what i'm getting into. this price increase of kia will backfire on them for sure.

im sure the picanto is leaps and bounds better than the old pride it replaced but with a 300t price tag, u get what u pay for, and i doubt it would be as reliable after a few years of use.
