Non-starting happened to me also 2 months after I bought my sportage. It happened at home and since still under warranty, I called Kia alabang, technicians came over to my house. Diagnosis was 2 burnt spark plugs. They temporarily changed them w/ used spark plugs. I drove to the casa and they replaced all 4 spark plugs with new ones for free.

May promo pa ba ung Sportage ngayon? Planning to buy Ford Ecosport pero turned off by greedy dealers so if may discounts pa ung Sportage, dito na lang ako.

2 yrs 2 mos old na Sportage 4x2 gas ko. Millage is 25k. So far happy naman ako. FC for me is 8 to 8.5 mixed city and highway worst is 7 kl/L pag heavy trafic dito sa Alabang area. Quirks ko lang is may times na nagloloko yung reverse camera, pero 80% of the time ok naman. And may mga rattling sound talaga from day 1 na nde ko na malaman kung saan, but its very minor lang naman, radio lang katapat hehehe.

Got my Sand Track 2014 Sportage gas 4x2 yesterday from Kia Las Piņas (excellent service!). My first Korean car so I was admittedly hesitant at first. But after spending some time yesterday and the whole day today with the Sporty, I must say it's every bit as good as my Japanese cars. I was also a bit concerned about poor mileage reported by some gas users here but I took the plunge anyway since the 2014 model is supposed to have the new NU engine that should be more fuel efficient than the Theta II.

Sooooo excited to drive it again tomorrow! Any tips from the old Sporty owners here? Thanks and glad to be here!

Hello everyone. I took delivery of a Mineral Silver Diesel Sportage a little over a week ago. Prior to that, I had been lurking this thread over a month ago as part of my research about this vehicle. I must admit that going through posts actually helped me with the decision to purchase the Sportage. For that, I have to thank the whole Sportage community in this forum.

I have several concerns I hope this community will be able to help me with.
    - Where can I get parts and accessories for the Sportage like mud guards, tonneau covers and such?
    - I'd like to be able to activate the DRL on my unit. As it is right now, what used to be the DRL is practically just a park light. It only goes on if the park light switch is turned on. Downside is, even the rear park light is lit when this is done. My SA agent hasn't been able to help me with this despite some genuine effort on his side. I'm hoping someone can point me to the right direction with the fix to this issue.
    - Where can I have my auto door lock/unlock activated?

I'm looking forward to any kind help or advice from this group. Thanks in advance!

I am not an owner or a Sportage but I know for a fact that there is a lot of accessories for your car at Genuine Car Accessories. They can help you with your DRL and accessories. Search for their FB page or Google the shop name.

Thanks, larry0609 for chiming in. I agree that GCAS carries some really nice accessories. However, I already got in touch with them over the weekend, and they don't seem to have the items I need. I appreciate the help, though.

I'm still hoping others form the thread can point me to the right direction.

Have you tried Seiring along Araneta Avenue? You can also try sending a PM to parakitoJDM here at Tsikot as he might probably help out source what you need.

Thanks for your input, extremeshot. Re the DRL, you think a rewire is the only solution to bring back ignition-on DRL on our Sportage models?

I asked my SA from KIA Acropolis about having auto-lock/unlock programmed on my unit. He says he's been having problems looking for tech people to perform the job. Have you managed to have yours reprogrammed?

Btw, I seem to be having problems with replying with quotes. Does anyone have any idea why so? Thanks!

Yes, re-wiring might be the solution for that. Just be careful as it might void your warranty since you'll be messing with the original wiring.

I asked Kia Las Piņas and they'll do the power lock programming based on how I would want it to work. I just haven't had time yet to bring it to them. They said it will take less than an hour to check and reprogram. Hth.

I think the original poster has a diesel Sportage. I haven't owned a diesel car yet but diesel engines don't have spark plugs right?

    extremeshot,

I'll probably have the rewiring done in the casa to avert the warranty issue.

Kia Las Piņas is quite a trek for me. Malamang kulitin ko na lang ang SA ko or just look for another dealership near the Marikina Pasig area for the lock reprogramming. Thanks.

So far I've been doing 8.2-8.5km/li in the city and I've been driving it pretty hard. I think 9km/li in the city is doable.
