Hi guys! Here's my official take on my new set of OMEs. My family went to Bacolod for the weekend and all my passengers were all smiles.
Ang ganda ng rebound and handling. I only had 2 duffle bags as cargo sa likod so those don't count to dampen the rear. The first one to observe the difference was the wifey, she even offered to drive halfway of the 220km journey. Sarap ihataw!
In a particular town where ARB and I dread because of the ripple like asphalt finish and jabbing potholes, my Max practically breezed through it, blunting the potholes. Unlike before, I felt like I had more control at the wheel since it wouldn't sway as much when it was met with body jarring rough road surfaces.
But hey, it ain't "car like" ok, as some of you might expect. I don't feel the need to invert the last leaf kasi ok na ok talaga ang ride. Get a set pronto! It's worth every penny! I sh#t you not.
Jubilum - is your Dmax silver also? Ikaw ata yung pumunta kanina sa shop ng friend ko asking about the AVT subs/sounds set-up. He told me kanina, he said na "the guy read about this in the internet daw" so I guess wala ng iba hehe. Di ba taga Tanjay ka?
I got my Max from Isuzu Cebu, I also don't like Mandaue.
Guys ARB and I made a startling discovery while we were installing my shocks: My/Our fuel tank is made outa plastic(?). Makes me wanna bolt on a steel plate for a bit of insurance. But then, plastic or rubberized fuel tanks are not uncommon today. I guess that it's definitely much sturdier than our average plastice containers otherwise it wouldn't be able to withstand the diesel that it contains.
anong klaseng OME (partnumber) yan? and how much ang cost roughly?
btw, I also have discovered that the rear lock would not be that easy to install a pneumatic lock .... yung parang pang keyless entry... kasi kakaiba ang mechanism of locking nito.
I have to think about how to make it work pa.
Memps, magkano inabot lahat ng OMEs mo?
jonDmax, bai mayron sa trij marketing sa atin last january nakita ko tag 5K each, balak mo ba pakabit?
again sorry for the ignorance but what does it do? i have a feeling my budget for new rims is going elsewhere hehehehe
its an australian brand of shock absorbers and steering dampers. its in the league of rancho shocks and other aftermarket shocks that are way way better than stocks ones.
arb quoted me for 5650 / shocks + 200 for installation. (taga cebu pala sya, i guess i have to try rats 4x4 then).
i went to campershells kasi and found out that they sell rancho shocks it cost 6200 kasama na kabit. i may have to choose between the two kasi iba talaga ride natin with the stock shocks.
Yup Memphis, ako nga yon. I was about to tell you that I found the shop you were refering to pero naunahan mo lang akoSold out na ako sa AVT subs but that will have to wait after my 20K PMS, baka masyado akong malakihan
So saan ka nagpapa PMS if you don't like Mandaue?
wow MR pasakay naman sa OME.. hahaha..
ARB,
may aftermarket skid plate ka ba for d-max? I have a friend who is looking for one.
meron po skid plate sa isuzu pasig parang stainless
went to transport show kanina nakabili po ako ng bendix na metal king gold para sa dmax for 1280 pesos ok po ba ito?
x_jason_x - hehe, kung pwede lang nga eh, I'd really like to share the experience. I still owe you a shot of my blinker mounts.
jubilum - ang bilis naman maubos, may 2 units pa ata nung last time ako dun ah! I heard that they are very popular now because of the built-in amps. Ok talaga ang tunog but then I also discovered a better one over at ARBs shop last weekend. A woofer box that's custom made for the rear seat natin with a solid Kicker 8 incher that promises to deliver a louder/tighter Bass experience! Very nice talaga!
Anyway my PMS is being handled by a local/official Isuzu Dealer, yung Robert's Tire Center sa Sibulan. They are very much capable, proper equipment and all.
iiinaslao - all four ang napalitan ko because I got my share na sa "paluwagan" ng barkada namin; nagbunga rin ang 2k a month deposits ko hehe. Changing your rear set first is a good start because dyan mas malakas ang bounce naman di ba? Basta sulit talaga. By the way, ARB is from Bacolod, not Cebu
.
srbogoy, wildthing - the cost is what iiinaslao posted above, I got mine from ARB. The part number is n26f sa Front set and n89 sa Rear set.
yun friend ko kasi naka kita ng skid plate sa dmax na color yellow. Like the yellow of OME's. Im not sure lang kung what brand yun skid plate, baka OME's rin. Nako Jake, bagay sayo yun. Match ang skid plate and shocks.
