orig battery; over a year or about 35000 kms na palitan ko na one morning it ould not start. upgrade to 3sm motolite enduro MF. but i think i will be going back to a 2sm and non-MF after this one.
2sm kasi para magamit ko ulit yun plastic tray ng battery comprtment at kaya naman nya electrical req. ng dmax coz its still all stock (nadun parin yun cassete player nya),
non-MF kasi after buying that battery, i read a thread here may potential mg MF mag explode kasi sealed not alowwing gases to ventilate. and mas durable ata non-MF. eka nga pang truck.
and im kinda a cheapskate. kasi weekly ko naman mag inspect tubig ng old battery and inspect the engine bay for unusual signs, ugali ko na mag maintain . sayang pesos.
thanks

September 10th, 2006 08:42 PM #514...dapat yata ipa-myth busters yang theory na exploding MF batteries....I don't think it would IF the batteries per se were really made correctly.
kasi yung alternator is always charging the batteries whenever it is running...and my suking battery shop is also accepting recharging of low charged-MF batteries....hindi naman sumasabog (I think).
Yung chemicals inside the MF is not the same as a Lead-Acid chemicals found on old-school batteries (WF - with maintenance, hehehe). This difference between the MF and WF batteries makes the difference about the "gas" produced that needs to be ventilated out para hindi mag-explode.

September 11th, 2006 07:05 AM #516hmm...it is then possible mag-burst kung ganun....pero medyo matagal nga rin ang ginawa mo charging....especially if you did not monitor the voltage and amperage ng charging process.
AFAIK, all chargers should have an "auto shut-off" once the right charge have been reached. Then to make it "fully" charged, trickle charging na lang (low ampere level than the regular charging pero the same voltage).

relate ko lang yung tungkol sa MF battery na nakakabit sa DMax namin. sa unang tingin parang maintenance free yung battery, upon closer inspection, hindi pala. nalaman namin yun nung nang lilinis kami nang engine bay tapos parang may singaw- traces of fumes. so, the curious in me got working. i found out that the battery, wasn't really a maintenance free! but rather it was a brand name. ayun, dinagdagan na lang muna yung tubig with distilled water.
eventually, it died (the battery). so we upgraded the battery from 2sm to 3sm nang outlast. bakit outlast? kasi sa experience namin with the civic, 4 years na yung battery pwede pa rin. outlast talaga.

Yung sakin din before nabuntis.

sa akin outlast two batteries tag 1 year and 2 months lang ang isa 1 year. FB 1 year din so are the other batteries. the one that I am using now is Motolite Excel gold going on 2.5 years na.
Couldn't have explained it better myself. This was the point I was making. They (either manually or...
