djerms; since matagal pa naman 20k pms mo, why dont you canvass by phone about the rates of different isuzu casas. thats what turned me to manila (or commonwealth: yuchengco group), iba talaga prices nila at looking at the receipts pareho lang jobs gawa.

pasig ang origin ng dmax ko kasi circa 2003 mas mdami service dept. horror stories from non-ayala casas. but since 2005 dahil hindi ako satisfied sa pasig, i tried makati then manila. and in general, its been a long time since i read of horror stories or even basic complaints against isuzu dealerships. maybe as a group they have improved the quality of their after-sales and service depts.

i think by this time you would have a feel on whats the build quality of your dmax. i think you have identified the shocks and brakes as the parts needing attention and they are easily or even better serviced by other reputable shops. and amongst dmax owners here, ian-rex's power window mechanism is what i think would be another considerable claim against th warranty,
but no engine, ecu, aircon, AT/MT transmission or turbo breakdown reported here.

so maybe you can gamble with ending your warranty earlier than mar.2007. as long as you would get considerable savings. like 5-7000 vs ph12000. pero kung 2-3000 lang would still get the casa service. for peace of mind din and baka you never know may bigla may part needing warramty replcement thats worth more than you would have saved.

but yun engine components like ecu and turbo, since wala ako alam ibang shop casa service parin.

    no was out of town.

    Kurt,

Thanks for the peace of mind. Matibay naman talaga ang Makina ng Isuzu. As for the ECU and turbo, what exactly are the services that casa does to these components based on your experience? Kailangan ba talaga ng ECU ng regular check-up or tuwing may problema lang?

Thanks again. Sa 20tkms ko sa labas nalang ako papagawa except for the diagnosis sa ECU.

I'm satisfied with my brake pads nga ngayon eh (aftermarked-bendix DB1468).

As for the overfilling of the engine oil, naiirita din ako. But considering na 6L talaga ang capacity ng DMAX engine, I gues It wouldnt hurt that much. Next oil change ko nalang icocorrect.

djerms-- dapat sa casa mo ipa PMS 20,000 yan... general check up kc yan, if u can look at your manual... marami palitan dun n hirap na if not casa mechanic gumalaw... at least sa casa u get some waranty sa service done dats y mahal... and do wat i do, i just let dem perform general PMS every 20k on my dmax but after dat is just change oil.. meron parin adventage if ull hav ur car checked and maintained by the casa, at least kung meron man unusual sa dmax mo, dey would know kc dats what they are trained for by isuzu phil... had bad experience na kc kung sa labas pinapaservice ang kotse namin, sabi ng technician kaya daw,yun pala hindi.. and damages has been done na.. i bought dis and dat kc sira raw but hindi naman cause sa breakdown... sarap nga gulpihin yun mekanic na yun eh, dats wat i get for servicing sa labas.. kaya meron talaga big diference... anyway, u cud request the casas just to change oil ur dmax and not perform PMS tlaga...

    Jarhead,

What If I request them to perform all other PMS except for the oil change?

wla pa ako nakita preventive preventive measures ginawa ng isuzu about ecu and turbo matters, pero minsan nakita ko yun ecu port under the driver's seat (may complaint ako about false CEL alarms wc went away be itself).

sa ecu, based on my experience with toyota marikina, meron talagang parang tool to make the diagnosis port in the engine bay to flash codes and they do this every pms.

i guess sa turbo, inspect hoses and unusual sounds coming from the turbo. durable naman ata as long as you use the correct engine oil and do proper cool down etc. pero pag wala complaint e pansin ko kahit saan casa, hindi nila bigyan ng attention.

at this time, you just had your 15k pms, dont exclude the option of using casa service for your 20k.pms. maybe when the time nears ( i guess 2-3 months) you might feel something in your dmax that merits official isuzu service. and you also have the option to choose between the different dealerships in metro manila since there are really price differences between them.

for some reasons...ang weird ng DMax ko (o natin) ang spare tire does not sport a magwheel...its a metal rim instead....pati dito tinipid.

    Kurt,
Maraming salamat. I might go to casa for physical inspection nalang and kung kaya naman palitan ng replacement parts ay sa labas ko nalang papapalitan (brakes, filters, etc...except for fuel filter). As for the branch, ok nako sa Isuzu Pasig kasi ok naman yung service adviser ko doon. Though this is the amount indicated sa manual, mas ok sana kung sakto. But a Tsikoteer friend told me that this is harmless naman unless ipapangkarera ang sasakyan. For the past PMS, ganun ang oil level ko and no harm was done naman. BUT for my next pms, i will request them to pour in 5 liters instead of 6...sasabihin ko na ako na ang bahala magdagdag ng langis.

    Ian,

12,000php lahat but sulit naman. Pati yun air filter pinalitan and binigay nila yun original sakin.

yes, during the isuzu warranty period ma-honor lang claim mo kapag dutifuly follow all their PMS using any authorized isuzu dealerships and no aftermarket parts and non-casa services.

but have used servitek for wheel alignment, balancing, during the warranty period. bukod sa mas mura, mabilis at nasa harap mo unit mo. hindi naman ma detect ng casa kung pinagawa mo sa labas - wala naman parts na gamit.

djerms, thats up to you na.. but still kung meron man prob sa engine mo, they wont honor it kc sa labas mo pinapacheckup kahit yun ibang work ng PMS cla nag trabaho. pare tlagang pinapalitan nila yan... the oil level myt look the same kc meron meter kung ilan liters na naipasok nila sa engine... kung duda ka parin, bantayan mo mag drain ng oil sa engine tsaka ka umalis....

kind of, it was my 20k pms with makati. may minor kabig lang, pinasama ko sa job order thinking it would be part of the PMS all-in rate, kung may bayad maybe minor lang (thinking servitek rates). what a mistake. it cost me 2000 at umabot 12000 bill ko.

after a month or two bumalik kabig, pero ayoko na talaga sa casa pagawa kasi overpriced at pila at hintay pa matagal kung pa-backjob. checked with suki servitek, ayos, hindi lang sila may bagong alignment machine (the one with mirrors) upgraded pa software nila to include dmax parameters. 600++ lang for 4 wheel alignment, that was Q2 2005. their work/adjustment still works today.

yup, renting an apt in sss vill.

EB? usually at gapan city on weekends, maybe when all our scheds tally.

    Kurt,
Sige ba. Ah kaya pala umabot 12k ang bill because of the alignment.
