Hi! na fi feel nyo ba na mahina yung brakes ng alterra? when i step on the brake pedal, andun yung initial bite but it feels like not biting enough and i have to press the brake pedal deeper. braking distance is really long and it just feels uncomfortable at times.

    Sir threelllr,

It would be best to immediately have the brakes checked because it should not be soft when you apply the brakes. Have you changed the brake pads? Are the pads OEMs?
Why not join the CIA EB this coming July 4th?

sir, it seems like you have diagram for the alterra. i need help regarding some loose wires on the right quarter panel of alterra near this quarter panel aircon set you illustrated.

they are about 6-8 small sockets grouped into one and it goes to the quarter panel tailight area.

my question is, what use for those wires? we bought this alterra 2006 4x2 2nd hand so i need idea on which wires are those. TIA.

note: you only see them if you remove the siding for this quarter panel area.

    Sir SG,
Other Isuzu owners are most welcome to join the EB. I think it's high time to revive IVEA again.

    Sir Benmizer,

I hear a rattle noise on the left passenger door when I go thru lubaks. I suspect the door handle is loose or something. I want to open the door sidings, how do I open that? Do you have a diagram on how to open the door sidings? Many thanks!

    Hi all,

I got my 4WD AT Sterling Silver Special Edition Isuzu Alterra last week! I wil post some pix here as soon as I find a suitable place for a pictorial.

I have one big concern though.

The main reason why I chose Alterra is because of the general concensus about its fuel efficiency. Based on what I read, I was expecting somewhere from 11 to 13 km / liter city driving.

I have resetted its trips 3 times already and the best ever I got is 8.7 km / liter. It was this morning when I went to the office at 6 am (there was hardly any traffic). I even did a lot of rolling, where I released the accelerator ahead of the incoming stop.

This is a far cry from my expectations

Will this ever going to improve and if so, by how much?

    My ODO reads 211 km.

Nyak. 211kms? I'm sure the reset you mentioned is not based on Full Tank to Refuel as reference. Alterra Full Tank to 1/4 can reach over 500kms.

Isa pa, bago pa lang yan eh. It will improve once it's totally broken in.

To accurately compute for your FC, i-full tank mo, then reset the trip meter to 0. Then on your next refuel, take note of the liters of fuel then divide the distance traveled into the amount of refuel.

Nels, what's wrong with using the built in gauge that computes the average fuel consumption? In my Alterra, if you press the reset pin 3 times, it shows you the km/l for trip A.

    Is that gauge not accurate?

On board FC computation are most of the time not accurate.

Mas accurate pa din ang mano mano.

Take note that an FC is your average for an entire trip.

Say, if you started your trip in a traffic jam at EDSA, poor FC yan. Then, you are now at NLEX and finishes your trip at Clark. Nag poor FC ka sa EDSA tapos bumawi na lang sa NLEX. If you pressed the on board FC Computer while at EDSA, mababa talaga yan.

    * PATSYS50, I guess you need to test your Alterra for FC once you reach 5000kms. At that time, normal na ang engine run mo. Hope to see you on July 4th EB.

*Benzmizer, many thanks for the diagram. It is of great help!
