I could help you on that but I need to know first for what purpose do you need to remove the dashboard so as I'd know what diagram to share.

The aircon vents on for the windshield (small squares near the wondshield) and the dashboard were not fitted properly. When I hit the break or put on a sudden stop, I hear a slight rattling sound coming from the vents and dashboard. TIA!

    *Benzmizer,

Looks like you have a lot of detailed info about the Alterra and Dmax, where did you get them? Is there a website? Are you familiar with putting the wood paneling stickers on the ac ducts and the transmission area? Do you know who and where I can have those installed in Manila?
    Many thanks for the info.

Hehehe! Just being "ingenius". Just shoot the query and let me try to provide the answers.

The woodpanel you see on the dash/floor console and door control panels are not stickers. It's the whole "assembly" itself. Meaning, you would need to replace the whole thing with that of a woodpanel part. I am not sure if ISUZU Parts Dept. would have these as spare parts/accessories. You can check with ISUZU dealers for its availability.

    Hi every one!!!
We got our new Alterra two weeks ago, I got a question lang po.
Since my father is a diesel mechanic, when we check the engine, he notice that the pulleys on the engine are not align perfectly. meaning magastos sa fan belt kapag hndi align ung mga pulley sa makina.
Ganito ba talaga ang arrangement ng mga pulleys sa alterra??tnx

First, CONGRATULATIONS on your new ISUZU Alterra!

As to your concern, if you feel otherwise of the alignment, best that you let the guys from the dealer see and align it. Baka ma-technical pa kayo sa warranty nyo when you may be just correct with your dad's observation, di ba?

    Hi guys,

So far I am reading that Alterra:

    -Has great fuel efficiency
    -Bouncy ride
-2nd and 3rd row seat not comfortable

I am wondering how does it compare with its peers, especially with:

    Toyota Fortuner
    Mitsubishi Montero

    In terms of:

    1. Fuel efficiency
    2. Riding comfort
    3. Cruising thru flood

Any input is appreciated (or point me to alink, if similar thread already exists), thanks.

    Dear Bros,

Is it safe to use 5w-40 synthetic engine oil for alterra like mobil delvac 1 or castrol edge (SAE 5W-40).Thanks in advance..

Trooper uses 10w-40 while the Crosswind uses 15w-40. I am a bit concerned on the viscosity of a 5w-40... may be too thin. I recommend a 10w-40.

So far I am reading that Alterra:

-Has great fuel efficiency - YES
-Bouncy ride - a bit yes due to the leafs
-2nd and 3rd row seat not comfortable - depends to where you are comparing this with. Generally speaking, the 2nd row is comfortable enough but the 3rd row not so much (even for other vehicle brand/models like Fortuner and Montero Sport

I am wondering how does it compare with its peers, especially with:

    Toyota Fortuner
    Mitsubishi Montero

    In terms of:

    1. Fuel efficiency - (1st Alterra, 2nd Fortuner, 3rd Montero Sport)
    2. Riding comfort - (1st Fortuner, 2nd Montero Sport, 3rd Alterra)
    3. Cruising thru flood - (all 3 are comparable due to vehicle ground height)

Then again, this is just my personal opinion/experience.

Sir Benzimer or anybody with the new alterras, just in case,do you have a copy of the manual's recommended engine oils of the newer alterra models..Medyo outdated na sir kc itong manual ko 2005 pa. The recommended casrol oils are already obsolete..I cannot find it anywhere in the internet. Many thanks mga sirs..

Thanks Benzmizer for your usual straightforward clear and honest answers.

The discussion now as to which car we will buy has broken loose - we used to be only deciding between Innova and Sportivo, now we might as well put the bigger SUVs in the equation

What do you suggest we get? Just want to hear your opinion.

    Our preferences are as follows:

    1. Must be diesel-engined and economical at that
    2. Comfy ride
    3. More safety features, the better.
    4. Can handle typical-level floods

    Budget is P 2M.

Thanks for your vote of confidence. I appreciate it.

In reference to my earlier post, seemed each pick up-based SUV has their strengths and comparable pluses. And if I were in your shoes (lucky me!), I'll judge it based on my personal design preference and its OVERALL benefit to me and my family.

In overall design, Fortuner wins my heart but the benefit would go to the Alterra --- fuel efficient, entertainment system (5.1 Surround Entertainment System), safety and convenience (back up sensors & CAMERA, dual airbag, ABS with EBD) and interior space and front vehicle design (looks like a Caddy Escalade)

As for the price, all three choices fits your budget with a full tank of diesel to spare.
