A review based on just paper specs is not worth believing.

IMO I don't think it counts as a review without a proper comparison. Yes, the Trailblazer is the most powerful in its class, but power isn't everything and it doesn't always make you the best in class.

What's funny is most Australians prefer the mu-X as it is the more refined car between the two. A reviewer also mentioned that the 3.0/5 speed combo is the better powertrain combination compared to Holden's (or Chevy's) because it feels well matched. Also, the chassis was from Isuzu, and the 2.5 4JK1-TCX is a new engine. The existing 4JJ1-TCX has also been improved along with the launch of the D-Max RT-50.

If you're eyeing for the TOTL variant, the TBZ LTZ is a no brainer, but you really can't beat the value for money of the mu-X 4x2 trims, especially the 4x2 LS-A. Safety and convenience features over engine power if you ask me.

very well said, so true. from the very start we all knew that TB = 2.8 and MUX = 2.5 so no need narin siguro na e remind tayo palagi na mas malakas yung TB sa MUX hehehe just only my 2 cents... every one has there own preference. yung mere example lang dyan ay color not everyone likes blue, at hindi natin pwede pilitin yung iba para gustuhin yung color na blue dahil yun ang gusto ntin... kay for me MUX parin hehe sana dumating na unit ko this month...

Mga Sir, pabor ako sa sinabi ni sir LuckyMan pero so far wala pa ako makita na review na lamang si mu-x in terms of horsepower. Ako po ay TBZ enthusiast because of HP. Ng dumating si mu-x nag testdrive agad ako and decided to pay for reservation and finally isa na ako owner ng mu-x.
    These are my preferences:
    1. I preferred 4x2 AT dahil di naman ako nag off-road. Saka 4x4 price di kaya ng bulsa ko.
    2. Those missing features sa 2.8L 4x2 TBZ ay nakita ko sa MU-X except the engine.
    5. Finally, ang TBZ 2.5L has 163HP, Fort 2.5L has 144HP, Monty 2.5L has 177HP and therefore if Isuzu wishes to upgrade 2.5L 4jk1-TC (HI) to up to 197HP is possible like 2.2L hyundai SF.

    Cheers!!! 😊

well, if we are to believe that indeed his benefactor is Chevy, then the objectiveness of his review might be questioned At any rate, I think there is no question, TBZ is more powerful than the Mu-x, this is the advantage of being in the free market, we, as consumers, are given a lot of choices depending on our needs, to each his own, for as long as we are guided supposedly by this car gurus/enthusiasts who can give us feedback and reviews objectively, but unfortunately this is not always the case because most of them are now being used as marketing tool by the car manufacturers. Just my two cents though..

Here is my take when i decided to get the MU-x (4x2 matic) Hoping..really hoping I can have my unit this February:

    1. Price - Well, for a buyer with limited budget, this is swak for me no doubt, the pricing of isuzu really made wonders.
    2. Safety Features/accessories - if i am not mistaken, the Electronic Stability Control and the Traction Control features are available only to high end vehicles, which is, of course, way beyond my budget. This is on top of the other features like the ABS, EBD, BA, Navigation, leather seats, suspension system, rear disc brakes, again, features that are available to high-end variants of other manufacturers.

Overall, best bang for the buck vehicle.

With respect to its power, well, I have said this before, power is not an issue for me, In fact, I am very well satisfied with my 102hp innova d4d hehe and 10th gen altis. i drive 50kms in going to work everyday. Why did i Not consider power considering that i am on the highway everyday? well, I am based in the visayas using the conventional provincial highway where you can encounter buses loading and unloading passengers right in the middle of the road, pedicabs, tractors suddenly appear in front of you..hehe worse, part of the highway are being used as palay dryer, well..if you want a vehicle with a 200hp and feel the joy of it ..goodluck

again, this is just me, to each his own, kung saan ka masaya at bagay sa sa sitwasyon mo, then go for a 200hp vehicle

kung tungkol sa pagiging most powerful ang tbz in its class how do you define most powerful ba? mas mabilis or mas malakas humatak? kasi bat parang on paper lang naman ata lamang yung 200 hp and 500 nm of torque n tbz kasi when it comes to real world performance parang mas mabilis pa nga yung montero vgt mag accelerate kesa sa tbz 2.8 ltz pero ma malakas humatak yung tbz sa monty vgt

Good day/night mga sir, nakakalito rin pala pag ng research ng sasakyan bago bumili. First choice noon una Hilux, second choice 2015 Montero go na go na kami rito dahil sa kanyang additional features and reading all treads in tsikot.com, kaso dumating naman si Mr. MU-X anyway end of June this year pa naman kami bibili. Thank you very much to this forum and still waiting to the new mu-x owners feedback, share naman dyan...

Kung ako sayo mu-x Isuzu bilhin mo. Matibay ang Isuzu..Isuzu crosswind sasakyan ko, at basic maintenance lng yung gngwa, wala pa insurance, pero never pa ako nagkaproblema. At 13 years na yung car (brand new yung binili).

Basically you define it by specs by doing side by side comparison. Real world performance depends on the driver behind the wheels.

yes at first sa specs talaga tinitignan pero sometimes kasi misleading ang specs, ung example na nga lang ng tbz 200 hp,500 nm torque compare sa mitsubishi monty 2.5 vgt 178hp,350nm kung hatawan ang usapan walang significant advantage ang tb sa monty vgt equal lang cguro kahit pa sabihin natin na may same driving skills ung magdadala ng parehong sasakyan pero going back to the specs dapat expected ng marami maiiwan c monty vgt, cguro sa hilahan at akyatan lang lalabas ung advantage niya, pero kaya dn naman ng monty vgt umakyat sa mga steep inclines without any problem, at bihirang bihira na may humihila ng trailer up to 2,500 kg dto sa pilipinas na gamit itong mga ladder frame suv na ito, kaya majority inaasume na miles ahead ang lamang ng isang sasakyan lalo na pag mataas nga ang figures ng paper specs nito

What specific feedback sir? I think it's better if you ask specific questions, may mga nakapag post na din po dati.

Same dilemma din before we finally got our mu-X last September. Tempting kasi malaki discount nila sa GLS-V. Madami na rin po nadagdag na features sa Montero for 2015 like the DRLs, improved head unit, TPMS, etc, pero malapit na rin kasi siya palitan, and mas madami pa din po standard features (including safety and convenience) yung mu-X.

Baka po by that time lumabas na bigla yung all new Fort, Montero or maging available na satin yung Everest. Since medyo matagal pa din po kayo bibili, mas ok siguro intayin muna yung iba bago mag decide.

Thanks LancerA174A appreciated, considering the maintenance in the long run I think panalo ang si Mr. MU-X. Naalala ko pa yong 2002 Tooper ng kapitbahay namin hanggang ngayon pormado pa rin at ayaw nyang ibinta dahil satisfied sya in power and maintenance...
