Sir, price aside FS oils are better than mineral oils. There are 5 areas where synthetic oil surpass their mineral oil counterparts. If money is not an issue go for FS oil. Apart from extended oil drains, you will also have extended vehicle life, avoid costly engine repair, improved fuel mileage and performance. The statement that FS produce sludge and clogs up the engine is quite subjective and doesn't make sense. How many times was it observed? What vehicle? Is the vehicle operating normally? How many km run? FS oils have better basestock, better additives (dispersant & detergent), excellent heat resistant and higher viscosity index. There is a need to understand deeper what causes the oil to get sticky (more viscous) so fast regardless if its FS oil or M oil. This is due to contaminants (soot, dirt, wear metals, moisture condition caused). I shifted from FS to mineral on my Montero due to driving pattern. City driving (40-50kph) and no passenger/load most of the time. Low load is not good for any type of engines. It causes poor combustion and produce more soot which mix the oil and make it sticky around 7-8,000km. Another Montero owner that I know drives his unit differently. Drives longer distance, faster speed (60-90) and loaded. He has no issue with getting 10,000km with his FS.
low load is not good.... wtf
ladder frame suvs are low load at 2000kgs
🤣🤣🤣

I think it is also possible to achieve longer draining oil interval in the Philippines passing the normal practice of 5000km and 10000km for mineral and FS oils respectively. But, not without addressing the contaminants that go into the engine oil. Our air is dirtier than in Europe. Dirt gets into the engine through the air filter and breather Though we have EURO IV fuel but, I doubt about the cleanliness level per ISO4406 and water content (200ppm max) when it gets into our vehicle tank. With fast loaded (dirt) air filter and dirty fuel injector deposit occurs and combustion is affected. More carbon and soot are produced and speed up that degradation of the oil basestock and depletion of additives. To solve this, you have to use high performance air filter (finer microns and high flowrate); use finer fuel filter to trap bigger particles and additive to address the water & diesel lubricity and cleanliness; and oil by-pass filter to remove the contaminants from the oil. These don't have economic benefits for private vehicles especially if you have no intention of keeping the vehicle longer (200,000km). These are good option for commercial vehicles with bigger oil sump capacity.
Btw im using delo sports semi synthetic 10w30, 10k km interval. *10k di pa din sobrang itim.

Good morning Sir/Mam!
.
I checked around dealers for the cabin air filter cover. Sa Commonwealth may stock sila. Sa Quezon Ave at EDSA out of stock. Bought mine yesterday sa Isuzu Commonwealth. Php 791 lang. Tapos ung cabin air filter ko is from Torque Filtration.
Installed it yesterday. Nawala na ung amoy medyas everytime mag bukas ng aircon.
Thanks. Had to call multiple times to catch Emil's attention. I should receive the cover and filter today.
Cover lang need ko kasi bumili na ako nang k&n washable cabin filter. It's already installed, pero makeshift cover lang ginamit ko.
Question lang po sa mga naka k&n cabin filter, how will you clean it in the future? Do you also have to buy the refresher kit?

I plan to, although puwede siguro hindi. Just mild soap and water should suffice.
Although weird design sa MUX natin, upward direction yung air flow, so dirty side will be underneath. Madali mahulog yung dumi pabalik sa blower. The "refresher" kit is supposed to add back the static electricity which helps hold the dirt in place.
I see. Thanks sir. Planning to get this one din when the time comes na kailangan ko na palitan yung binili ko sa casa

Na confuse din ako dyan. But I watched several videos in YouTube. The dirty side is on top side. Pahigop ung blower so downward hindi upward ang buga. Wala kasing directional arrow ung flow to guide us in the installation. I maybe wrong but you can check as well.
Sabi ko nga the only way to really check is after a week or so, I'll pull out my filter and check saan ung maduming part.
If you check the top part of the housing, meron siya opening eh. I expect air flow to be getting air from outside the vehicle.
Pero I'll do the same and check my filter when I install the cover.
Hi sirs this is the correct position of the filter inside the cabin.
If it is not fit it means wrong size ang nabigay po sa kanila.
