The MT is actually a good deal... and if you need a truck in MT, the MU-X's transmission is one of the easier ones to use.

Yes sir Niky the MT is definitely a good deal. Obliged to get AT for my wife's convenience since she is the one using most of the time because I work overseas. Secondly, the 4x2 AT variant for me is bang buck for the buck in terms of accessories (back up cam, sensor, GPS, leather seat, roof TV together with safety features ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, 4 disc brakes, etc).

Test drove both Chevy Traiblazer and Isuzu Mu-X in Pasig a while ago. My heart really goes to the chevy tb, but my boss (wife) really wants the isuzu mu-x for the price and new features.
We initially did the test drive for the TB, I was really comfortable with the drive, and the POWER is really there.
For the Isuzu Mu-X, I did notice that the breaks were quite low or mushy, so there was a little adjustment at my side with the vehicle. As for the power, honestly at first, I was thinking of the lack of power as I read on the specs that the Torque and Power of the Mu-x is lower to the Montero and Fortuner as well. However when I drove it, I would say it is sufficient, never felt any lag.
In the end we went for the Isuzu Mu-X and will be waiting for it in 2 months or so (Bank PO).
Btw, ride was comfortable for both the TB and Mu-X.

Sir, based from your test drive, is the Trailblazer miles ahead of its twin in terms of power and acceleration? I also think the mu-X's engine is enough, and I haven't tried driving the Trailblazer.

sorry - yes, the power is there.- way too much power.

also got to test drive the mu x awhile ago- damn pareho na pareho loob and outside even the parts in the under carriage - i bet you maluwag din stablink ng mu x

mushy breakes nga- wala bang break assist?- maybe same with the tbz lt at or ltx

by the way the tbz lt at or ltx is faster than the ltz- we have both but the ltx or lt at, does not stop fast as the ltz.

First I noticed is that yung sa TB, may response agad, kahit slight press pa lang ng pedal compared sa Mu-X.
Yung sa Mu-X, sinubukan ko mag stop dun sa fly-over along meralco ave (going towards st. paul pasig). to check if kaya pa din nya umusad kahit hindi naka-apak sa pedal kaya naman (bali 4 adults kami and 1 child nung nag test drive).

good morning sirs. I am newbie in this forum..and I am also choose MUX for my wife ( mostly sya ang mag drive).
Power and acceleration is enough, but not compared to higher torque and higher final gear ratio. ( tbz use 3.42 final gear + high torque at just 2000rpm) while MUX is still good because it uses lower lower gear ratio ( 3.909 + flat capable torque from below 1800rpm)... additional MUX uses smaller wheel compared to other models... Then when I checked the gear ratio 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear, & 4th is very near to tb. The difference is at 5th plus tb has 6th gear... So no sweat from stop to accelerate from stop or akyatan..

What I mean of gear ratios is the combination of each gear x final gear ratio.... I am also confident that these
SUV will not smoke bleachers coz max rpm is only 3600 rpm ( I think MUX is 3600rpm not 3400rpm, while tbl is 3600rpm
    and not 3800rpm).

alam mo naman mga agent exaggerated- baka yung hill assist yung pinagmamalaki nila? kasi kung field master na pajero kaya malamang sisiw sa mux yan

tbz lt and ltz owner here- i hate bashing
yan mux babanatan ko din yan antay lang na magnormal yung market - in honor of our real first brand new vehicle- trooper(it's like driving a boat, 4 disc brake yet it takes time to stop, and may od button pa)

yup hill assist and hill descent plus brake assist

brake assist hiwalay pa sa hill descent and all at models of the tbz have this.
ang talagang binili mo lang sa tbz is the brand new powerful engine sa mu x naman gadgetry and accessories comparing it sa 4x2 models lang
4x4- medyo alangan na yung mu x dahil sa safety add on ng tbz- but heck still both a good buy

That's quite impressive sa mu-x, that it doesnt fall back sa inclined slope.i think wala pang hill-ascent start assist ang local mu-x. Sa brochures and website, walang sinasabi na may hill-ascent assist. May brake assist naman ang mu-x which i presume is for panic brake assist ( or pwede rin hill descent).
Sa tbz naman, they have both hill-ascent and descent with brake assist sa 4x4 models only. Wala sa 4x2.
So for me, sulit ang 4x2 mu-x compared sa tbz. But sa 4x4, tbz hands down coz of more powerful engine and added features.
Sayang lang talaga na walang side airbags sa kanilang 2.

I agree that both a good buy! Im still on the fence to what to buy. No rush though on my part.
I think hill assist of tbz are for the 4x4 model only, basing it sa chevy website

Hows the PMS cost of isuzu vehicles? A friend has told me that cost is quite high and service is poor? Hope its not as terrible as hyundai
