Diesel particulate filter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The regeneration process occurs at road speeds higher than can generally be attained on city streets; vehicles driven exclusively at low speeds in urban traffic can require periodic trips at higher speeds to clean out the DPF.[2] If the driver ignores the warning light and waits too long to operate the vehicle above 40 miles per hour (64 km/h), the DPF may not regenerate properly, and continued operation past that point may spoil the DPF completely so it must be replaced.[3]
In our case it regenerated automatically even at low speed, well good thing it did at least I know it worked. But usually the DPF system works best at higher speeds with higher air volume and heat, it pushes the particulate dirty fumes through the the DPF can and emits less visible vapor. This is also why they recommend using Euro4 clean diesel (at least) for those equipped with a Euro5 engine. Otherwise, using regular diesel which is much dirtier will make the DPF regenerate prematurely on a short interval basis. This an alarming experience for me as a new SF3 owner, it happened thrice while using Euro2, 2 instances in morning traffic and 1 night time. Anyhow, the KDM SF3 DPF is automatic so no additive is needed, the system itself does what is required. We had our unit checked as well, they had a Bosch technician drop by Pitstop with all technical gizmo he brought. Turned out everything was normal and there was no deterioration in the system as the pressure he pointed out were also normal. If irregular he said the engine will not run smoothly and there will be a loss of power, in our case there was no loss in power, but we also did not see a check engine light which he was asking if it has appeared. The only thing we noticed was the smoke, which turned out to be vapor for the untrained and less educated folks who don't know about the DPF system; that included us. Hahaha..
The DPF can is made of adamantium, it is priceless. Kidding titanium and is expensive.
Hi , has anyone considered buying a smart key protector like this in the link? Meron kaya dto nito?

Mukhang wala pa dito sa atin, I am also looking for the leather smart key holder
In my case, I got the PHDM unit mainly because of the 5 year warranty. Also, due to the Korean language in the MID of KDM units. But features and spec-wise, mas panalo ang KDM.
