Yes sir. Price is too much. Btw if you really have the money why not. But the 2014 Hyundai Veracruz will kill this Sta. Fe. Vera Cruz is 3.8L (3778cc) 24valve V6 engine with whooping 260 horse power. Rooooocckkk!

Sorry to disappoint you Sir but the Veracruz brand is discontinued globally.
It is replaced by the Long Wheel Based Santa Fe.

In EU and Philippines it's called the Grand Santa Fe
    In Korea it's Maxcruz
In the US it's just Santa Fe

    Engines
US [Gasoline] - 3.3L Lambda II GDi V6 290hp DOHC 24-valve with D-CVVT...I wonder if this rocks.
    EU, Philippines, Korea, Asia [Diesel] - 2.2L CRDI VGT R-Line I4 200hp

Fe, all stock however when we travel with 5 passengers it cant push more than 180kph. Acceleration is poor when loaded. But sta. Fe is so ***y. Hihi

The equivalent version would be the 7 seater GLS 4x2 CRDI. It comes in MT & AT plus the TOTL 4wd variant. Not sure though about the Grey market versions. Heard there was a diesel 2.0 engine.

FYI, Guys... As I was heading to my work in Subic yesterday... Came across heavy rains and flooding in some portions of the road... Visibility was almost zero... So after almost six (6) months of having my SF, this is the first time I have had to drive it in heavy rain and flood... So decided to open up and remove the back compartment where the tools are located to check if there is any rain water underneath the carpet... End result, there was none... Guess Hyundai already fixed the problem with the leak issue of the rear hatch...

Regarding the leak problem, the best way to test the car is in stationary position rather than moving.. Mas madaling pumasok yung leak...

The dealer already know which vehicle is affected based on VIN number.. Pero kung 6 months palang ang kotse mo, IMHO dapat corrected na yan.

Thanks for the info, ImperialV... Was transversing the floods then at 1st gear because of the traffic.. But one (1) of these days, I'll leave it outside once we'll have a storm coming... Just to make sure mine is leak-free... But you're basically right... Hyundai should have corrected the problem by now... Again, salamat and Happy Father's day to most of us...

Hi mga sirs, first of all i would like to thank you mga sir kasi after back reading for a week starting from page 1 (coz sa gabi lang ako nagbabasa.. ) i've learned a lot from you guys & sulit talaga ang pagbabasa ko..hehe..hoping i can get one someday & be a part of this group, for now unahin ko muna si wifey coz she's preggy our first baby & our other expenses also, but hopefully if our budget permits maka-avail na ako & excited to have one specially si wifey.. we went to hyundai e.rod & q. ave to check the actual unit tingin tingin lang gusto ko nga sana magtest drive pero nahihiya ako kasi baka sabihin sa akin hindi naman ako kukuha nagrerequest ng makapagtest drive..

anyway mga sir i have some questions hope maliwanagan nyo ako regarding this:

    3. if ever maka-avail ako ng sta fe this will be the first time akong makakaroon ng diesel engine vehicle, w/c based sa mga kwento sa akin & based sa mga nababasa ko mas magastos ang maintenance ng diesel compare sa gas engine, will you still say it is a good buy if im planning to keep this vehicle up maybe mga 8-10years? hindi naman kasi ako mayaman para makapag-palit ng kotse after 3years..

hope you can enlighten me mga sir about my queries & thanks in advance!

The Sta Fe only has 185mm ground clearance so if your area is flood prone you may consider a ladder frame SUV instead for peace of mind. Havent seen a heightened Sta Fe, not sure if its possible bec. of its monocoque chassis.

Modern diesel crdi engines are IMHO more expensive to maintain but the cost of diesel fuel compared to gas can at least compensate for the difference.

Sir maybe di ka lang familiar whats the use of a 4x4 vs. 4x2. If city driving ka lang naman sir ok na 4x2. Mukang wala na nga 4x4 coz my lolo just bought a 4x2 variant.

Doppel, if you are looking for a family hauler the Santa Fe will be very good if not best for the money (power, comfort, features). If you are considering height for floods better get a ladder frame like the fortuner or montero. Comfortwise amongts the three, i would go for the Santa Fe. 4x4 you may want to check KDM units if you seek the peace of mind of having all wheel system, di naman necessary na mag offroad using 4wd sa Santa Fe. We chose the 4wd for peace of mind during those rough weather. 4wd is unbeatable for traction on demand whther it is rain, mud, gravel. If you plan using a vehicle for real offroad ruts then a ladder frame vehicle is your best bet. In terms of maintenance like oil change yes, mas madalas ang change oil mo as it is every 5tkms. On an average vehicles driven in manila are at 10tkms per year, that would mean two sets of oil and engine oil filters. Although running diesel on a day to day basis is efficient due to its low revving nature and massive torque within those ranges. If you do not mind the oil change and more of fuel economy, diesel is your best bet. If you want a euro v diesel engine santa fe, go with the kdm unit. Local units are rated lower, but gives similar if not same output. Difference with euro v is it rated for clean burn or emissions.

    Hope this helps.

To add.. On the highway, the Santa Fe is really aerodynamic very slick and less drag compared to the Fortuner or Montero. If you release the gas pedal you will significantly notice the drag of the ladder framed vehicles because of the boxy shape. The Santa Fe 3rd gen is a real super cruiser.

I haven't seen an SF3 on lifters, but that would be too rough in my opinion. Like a walking dead apocalypse vehicle.

Sir T|tan any idea how much is the replacement for the DPF of tthe Sta Fe and at what KM reading will it be due? Are the grey market dealers insisting on fully synthetic oil for every oil change and and 3mos or 5kms of HARI dealers?

DPF doesn't need replacement. It acts as a 2nd catalyst converter. It stores soot inside and burns it off via "regeneration cycle".
You just need to change oil religiously for it not to fail in the long run.

Is the Multi Info display the same with the 4x2 AT vs 4x2 MT? According to the brochure the MT version is standard compared with the AT Supervision. Can anybody shed some light on this. Also, are there any other options when it comes to Manual stock rims? The MT version mags remind me of the earlier 2012 reviews. Or are they the only standard option only?
