Nyahahaha :hammer:

Palagi ko talaga sinasagad yung foot brake ng Tucson. Pero masama din pala yun.

Organic compound yung brake pads natin kaya maingay at malakas mag dust.

it could be a problem with the brake switch or if you will notice you will hear a click of a relay when you move the stick shift from P toward the right part, you can hear it even though you dont stick it in R. try to observe if your hearing the same sound. i think its the one thats interfaced with the AT transmission to signal a change in gear.
sorry wasn't able to indicate, ours is GL
will check later regarding the "click" you mentioned. thanks!

pardon my ignorance, what is the "striker"?
where did you have it fixed? hyundai global doesn't seem to know what to do with that problem..
    thanks in advance!

in laymans term, its the one that responsible on locking the rear tailgate, its the letter U shape latch at the back. if ever yours was not adjusted/tighted yet, the noise thats coming from the back of the cabin is there. but if it is indeed at the rear suspension part, its the defective stabilizer link in which case happens to the 2WD variant of the tucson. the casa's should replace that with a new part that is a revised design of hyundai.

i don't think an owner of a new car deserves all these problems/issues, if we only knew in advance, we wouldn't have gotten one..

sa dami ng cases, you can't say na "isolated case" lang eh..

the tucson does have its pros:
    nice looks
    very fast (even the GL)
    smooth transmission
    economical(?)

the cons: just read this long thread..

so if you really want the above "pros", go and get one, just be ready for the issues/problems you'll encounter..

looking back, we would have chosen not to have the problems.. but that's just me and my wife talking; others may disagree and we respect them

the 2WD GL / GLS variants were the first to be released here in our shores before the CRDi models came in, that was a good 4 months gap. i think within those 4 months some problems got addressed but some are not, i think its the consequence of just jumping into the bandwagon and buying a new released car, specially a new complete design.

especially now, that its selling like hotcakes anywhere in the world, production lines in the factory is pushed to it limits, some issues are more likely to slip through quality control. oh well. :hammer:

thanks for confirming SG, akala ko guni guni ko lang yong naririnig ko, malapit na din ako mag 5K PMS (4800+ KMs na), papatignan ko din, kung ano man maging result I will let everybody know, sa iyo din whatever happens please let us know.

i think even with all the issues that i personally encountered, i am still a satisfied owner, for me, the PRO's still outweighs the CON's

so far, i'm very happy with my tucson (although barely a month old pa lang yung sa akin, but 980kms na natakbo). i still think it's the best priced, value-for-money compact SUV. i haven't driven the ASX but from specs alone, kayang kaya iwanan ng tucson yun (even the thetaII units), along with the ford escape, 2.0 crv and Xtrail 2.0.

really the biggest gripe i have with the tucson is the looooong wait time. sa lagay na ito, i feel really lucky i got mine only after 3 months.

actually convinced my sister to get one herself as well.

ako din naririnig ko ito pero ok lang naman yun sound

well i guess its the element of luck din. not all units are built exactly the same. hindi lang naman puro robotics yung nasa production line, but also human installers. so may human errors din na involved.

so its by chance nalang kung kanino mapunta yung lemon at yung perfectly built unit.

sad to say, ganun talaga when buying a car. even "reliable" toyotas have had their issues. kung swerte ka nga talaga.

are you talking about the gl evgt or the gl theta 2?

i have the gls theta2 and i have experienced problems with it. don't get me wrong, i am pissed with the problems i have experienced but at the end of the day, i still love the car. i'm not expecting a new car to be all that perfect, otherwise, i would have bought a benz instead, but i assure you, i would still encounter problems with it...perfection is relative to perception.

my problem lies with the warranty which supports the car itself. yes, you may claim the defects against its warranty but people from hyundai themselves cannot solve the problem. they rely purely on hit and miss! only during the course of the complains of the new owners, only then, that they get their training in repairing or dealing with the problems which arise.

the thing is, HARI should have sent service advisors to hyundai korea to get trained with the ins and outs, and technical specs of the new models which they brought in. i don't think HARI prepared for these.

    just my 2 cents.

I have not brought the unit for check up til now for I have not encountered shift lever locking anymore and mine is a 2.0 GLS 2wd. Sir ano ginawa ng hyundai global? ... Inis at natawa ako at di ako maka reverse parking when we arrived at maragondon when we visited a faith healer last Sunday. But at gen. trias gumana naman. Then Monday nag lock ulit at umayos din. Next time i will try also switching off at dadalhin ko nalang pag di maalis ang lock siguro wala naman sila gagalawin pag di nag lock....despite the problems, i'm still satisfied with this car.
