Hi guys! Finally got my new Tuc. I got the Two-tone green one. Ok nga siya and i like the ride so far.
Parang medyo malakas lang gas. Ano ba Km/liter nito?
Also, paano sumali sa club?

Hi Mambo, exactly the same thing yung bumpers, akala ko e nakakabit na sa tucs mo e, it seems that the pic you sent is the website's, as I've said I can get it cheaper than anyone could offer there in the pines, anyway, kewl yung clear gas cap pero lintik din price e, so may not go that far.
Funny i had my 2.0 cvvt A/T tucson serviced now for some weird noise from the engine when i accelerate. The sound is exactly like those you hear in OLD manual vehicles when they try to shift ahead to a higher gear (say 3rd gear at 30kph). My friend says that Acceleration Timing should be reset to fix this problem. Anyhow, Hyundai should have known better.
I left the car overnight (Hyundai ERod) for them to pinpoint the problem. Their computer machine says everything is OK, test drove it but the irritating sound is still there.
Left the car for another 5 days. SErvice said they drained and disassemble the gas tank to drain out dirty gas (as they said it is). After this horrifying thing they did to my car, freaking noise is still here.
So much for a Hyundai, Ey? Has this happened to anybody here? I am a city driver driving with a light foot but still get a consistent 6km/L fuel mileage. Can this be the symptom of my problem? Now i'm feeling ****.
any thoughts in this guys? some of my friends are telling me that Transmission Timing should be adjusted but Hyundai is telling me that my timing is ok.

Yes, same thing. But remember, A/T won't allow you to shift to a higher gear unless you're in the right speed.
Thanks for the reply...
On my second visit they removed my Gas Assembly, which was very odd for me, so they could drain the gasoline (Shell at that time, but 90% of the time I use Petron Xtra). Told me to use Petron Xtra solely afterwards, which i did. Unfortunately, it did nothing to fix the problem. Why in hell would they blame it on the gasoline to begin with? I never used 95+ octane to mix with unleaded(93+) because i know that would have made a slight difference. But for the Shell/Petron unleaded, i don't think so.
I really appreciate your input guys. They're towing up my car today. I may also need some legal advise in the house for the matter. My tucs is just 6mos old running 5T km.
Thanks again!
BEN
Maybe the sound is inherent in most Tucson units. Try listening to other units.
If the sound is just irritating and does not affect vehicle functionality in any way, I'd probably live with it.
Baka lalo pang magkanda-sira sira yung sasakyan if I pressure the service department to 'find' the 'problem'. They'll start hacking into every imaginable system on your vehicle in their quest to find it.
I've not heard the sound, so I can't really diagnose it. On some cars a valve clearance and ignition timing adjustment will usually do the trick.
If the diagnostic computer is saying everything is up to spec, then maybe everything really is up to spec and the sound is just a peculiarity (like the humming sound my Pajero makes at certain speeds). Did you test drive a Tucson before purchasing one?
Are you sure that they actually plugged it in to the diagnostic computer? Wheels E. Rod could not produce one when I asked them to show me this 'diagnostic computer'. Kia Quezon avenue has one. They showed it to me prior to working on the Picanto.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
Yung sound niya pare parang kumakalas 50% of the time I accelerate. Just imagine kung ano mangyayari after a year or so... Maybe the biggest reason din kaya i only get 6km/L on a very light foot, kasi parang hirap yung kotse. Yung sira na to nag start lang nung mga 4.3T km pa lang ODO ko, nung una ang hina lang pero ang lala na talaga ngayon.
I agree, i'll check their diagnostic papers. I really wanna know kung kelan nila ideclare na defective ito and subject to replacement. If there's any legal advise i can get from peeps around here, i would really appreciate it. I wanted to know my right as a consumer kung hanggang kelan ang ganitong situation, last time they checked ako ang nasisi dahil sa gas ko.
I honestly love everything about my car until this happened.

Just an update to my defective tucson. They still can not find any problem with the engine. they replaced4pcs new spark plugs and checking the hydraulic lash adjuster condition as of the moment. Funny!
help on squeeky brakes early in the morning and after a long stop. by the way i owned a 4x2 crdi with 2k on the odometer.
had it checked with hyundai edsa greenhills and they are not willing to clean it up to 10k on the odo.
had it cleaned with shell service station using sandpaper and pressurized air but the problem came back.
Thanks in advance.
This might help. The way you described your problems with yoru Tucs I had the same with my ride but it is a Nissan Sentra 98. Nissan Commonwealth can't fix the problem and they keep telling me it is because of the fuel. I was using Shell Velocity then and only getting from one gas station. One day I just switched fuel to Caltex Gold and the crazy crackling sound during acceleration disappeared. Acceleration also improved. One day my wife filled it up again with Shell and the problem came back. It was bad that I brought my car to Nis Commonwealth to get the tank drained. Nawala ulit when I filled it with Caltex. I never imagined it is caused by the fuel. Kaya hanggang ngayon Caltex na ang gamit ko pati sa Santa Fe ko. Try it just for kicks. Goodluck.
Thank you for the reply pare. I would have definitely done this had i owned an older car. I can't afford to accept something like that for a brand new tucson. I'm meeting up with them today because they seemed to have surrendered looking for the problem. I wish i will be able to know my options later.
For the guy who was having problem with the brakes, i had the squeeking sound on my tucson as well. I had it reported on my 3k check up and they willingly cleaned it. Sadly though, it keeps on coming back occassionally. Funny (Again)!
I can't horn also when my steering wheel is in it's full swing. My aircon makes a whistle on fan no.2 and above. hehehe
Hello everyone!
I'm a newbie here and I'm a new Tucson CRDi owner.
I have had the Tucson for more than a month and I have already passed the 1,000 km tune-up. So far, I'm very satisfied with the Tucson.
I have a question though that I would like to ask around. Is the step rail sturdy? The accessories section of Hyundai E. Rod has one for P14,500.
Does anyone have an idea where I can check out cheaper but quality step rails?
Thanks!
,jake
