di kaya ng mineral oil lang ang vgt turbo. i'd go for semi or fully synthetic. pero for me semi-synthetic na lang at di kasi sulit ang fully synthetic sa sobrang short service intervals ng HARI (5000 km/3 months). that is unless may promo sila. nagpa- service ako ng GS sa balintawak last week same price ang fully synthetic sa semi e.

Had a very bad day today, nagpa schedule ako ahead na for today ang service appointment ko sa hyundai greenhills. Kaso when i got there on my appointed time ang sabi sakin ng service advisor wala daw technician na gagawa sa unit ko. Dahil daw christmas party nila kagabi and walang pumasok na technician...wtf!!! Nag init ulo ko. Malay ko bang may party sila kagabi at walang papasok na gagawa today. Ang sabi ko pinilit ko nalang ilabas yung sta fe ko kahit naka check engine light tapos pababalikin nyo ako? To borrow the phrase dun sa lao guy na nabaha "i should have been informed!!!!" tapos eto pa, nung may dumating na magpapa service na kay allado pinapasok agad. Kesyo change oil lang daw yun. Sira talaga araw ko and hindi nako babalik dun for any service of any of my hyundai rides.
To rub it in ngayon lang tumawag customer service nila sakin reminding me of my service appointment nung 8am. Ang sabi ko "hindi mo ba alam na nandyan nako kanina and ang sabi sakin wala daw kayo technician?" puro ogags siguro nagpapatakbo nyang hyundai greenhills na yan and to think part ito ng autohub group.

Oo nga eh. Sinayang ko lang pagod ko. Sana man lang tinext nila ako na walang technician para hindi nako pumunta. Kung ako nga lang part owner nyang autohub na yan sinesante ko na pati yung ogag na SA na yun. Ang usual kausap ko kasi si mon.kaso wala din siya mukhang nalasing din sa party. Etong kausap kong si balbas nakakabwisit pa pagmumukha. Eh wala naman akong magagawa na so umalis nalang ako.

Hingi lang po sana ng info if how much magastos ko sa diesel if I get a Sta Fe for daily drive from Makati to Marikina?

Right now gamit ko is 2011 Accent A/T around 1500 to 1800 gas ko for 4 days. Kasama na po dun yung occassional na labas within Marikina pag coding yun car and pag weekends. Pero sa dashboard nag register ako ng 12 to 15 liters / 100 km. ( I know mabigat paa ko :-D)

I also had a Lancer EX GTA before, Marikina to Boni nag register ako ng 7 to 10 km / liter, 5 days yun. If I remember correctly mga
2000 pesos din yun once a week.

Hingi lang po sana ng info if how much magastos ko sa diesel if I get a Sta Fe for daily drive from Makati to Marikina?

Right now gamit ko is 2011 Accent A/T around 1500 to 1800 gas ko for 4 days. Kasama na po dun yung occassional na labas within Marikina pag coding yun car and pag weekends. Pero sa dashboard nag register ako ng 12 to 15 liters / 100 km. ( I know mabigat paa ko :-D)

Maraming factors ang fuel consumption like route, weather and driving style. Pareho pala tayo. I also have a 2011 accent a/t pero ang ginagamit ko pang daily drive is a santa fe. Assuming same factors like route or weather, mas matipid talaga ang santa fe ko compared sa accent. Ang measurement ko hindi pesos per ilang days but kung ilang kilometers per liter. Yung accent ko kasi matakaw. Around 5-6kms/l while yung sf ko nasa 6-7km/l. Mas mura pa diesel so mas makakatipid pako. Mahal nga lang maintennance ng sf compared sa accent.
Follow up question, ilang mileage na accent mo? Wala pa bang knocking issues?

Are you getting a new one or used? The pre facelifted ones from 2007-2009 are a bit cheaper on maintennance than the facelifted version from 2010-present. The older model uses 6 liters of oil while the new one 8 liters, and it requires a fully synthetic oil at that (which is even more expensive).
Things to look out for are the suspension. Santa fe's are known to have weaker underchassis components especially cv joints. As far as i know 2010 present models are more problematic than the 07-09 models. Usual niggles are the brake switch problem and the tranny problem.

So far in our 2010 SF, wala pa issues like brake switch & tranny problem. The mileage is around 29,xxxkms.

Isa lang reklamo ko, yung power fold side mirror switch. Wala lang oras dalahin sa casa for warranty.

got my Santa fe last nov 5. I had my 1k pms a few weeks ago, spent 4.5k using 7L semi-syn oil.

full-syn is around 6.5k then top-up only on 5k intervals.

Only issue I encountered, fuel gauge got stuck at empty even tho I still have 3/4 fuel but fixed itself after refueling a few liters

2009 model and below (Diesel) 5.9l lang talaga while
2010 above model (Diesel) naman is 6.7l lang

Go for the new Ford Explorer if you can afford it. The new Santa Fe will be coming out soon but no news when.
