oo nga e nanghihinayang ako sa sorento crdi.

eto ang freebies na binibigay sa kin ng hyundai for the sta fe:
- lto 3 yrs
- tint
- matting
- seat cover
- rain gutter
- and discount...

pero di pa ko nag hahagle kasi kakausap ko lang kanina and madali lang naman daw yung mga freebies kasi ang tanong nga e ano pa gusto ko at ilalakad daw nya sa boss nya...

may up spec version ang hyundai manila bay ng 4x2 evgt...naka leather seats na, stepboard kaso lang tinadtaran ng chrome accents ang interior at exterior. naka display sa glorietta last saturday, medyo late na kaya hindi ko natanong price umuwi na sales rep nila. malamang sante fe gold edition tawag nila dito...he he he

Stay Away from Santa Fe.

Ok ang engine. Subok ko na sa Long Drive.
But it's the suspension that I have qualms.
Pag pinangharabas mo yan, sooner or later you will encounter squeaking suspension, whistling steering that requires replacement of Rack and Pinion Bearing, or leaking Shock Absorber.
Knowing ang condition ng kalsada sa Pinas, you need a Ladder Frame SUV with robust suspension.

Also, malambot suspension niya which you may find issues pag medyo loaded ka na.

Pero if nearby Metro Manila lang naman ang trip mong byahe at di gaano loaded, ok ang Santa Fe.

Alterra can travel farther on same amount of Fuel compared to Santa Fe and Alterra has more robust suspension.

SF naman has the looks and comfort and a good and powerful engine too.
So you decide.

Di ba covered naman nang 5-year warranty yung mga squeaking suspension, whistling steering that requires replacement of Rack and Pinion Bearing, or leaking Shock Absorber?

Panu naging mas matipid yung Alterra if it has a bigger engine 3.0 diesel engine compared to the Sta Fe's 2.2 diesel engine?

Mahirap din pala mag-decide kasi di rin biro maglabas ng 1.5M to 1.8M to purchase a vehicle. Lalo if you intend to keep the vehicle for around 10 years. Antay na lang siguor pag may bagong model na ng Sta Fe at Alterra, hopefully sa 2012........

Mga Sir,

I am glad to report that I just received my unit yesterday. 2.2 crdi.

But now I need help.

I have a query based on a previous post that I read a while back regarding having the wheels aligned before pulling out the unit.

So I had my unit wheel aligned at the dealership yesterday and read the before and after numbers. But noticed that the caster was still out of acceptable range. I talked to the guy in charge and they said that that was fixed, factory set, and that it was still ok since the left and right were not far from each other. I also mentioned why there was no wheel alignment done to the rear wheels and he mentioned that the rear wheels do not need to be aligned because they just follow the front wheels.

WOW. WTF. Talagang sumakit ulo ko because all the stuff he said went contrary to all that I knew about vehicles in my 30+ years. But since it was near 6pm already, nainip na ako and I just took the car para makauwi na ako.

Anyone have any comments about this? Or any similar incident happen to you?

Congrats Sir sa new SF po ninyo! I had same problems with you regarding the camber alignment of my 2010 SF 4x4.

Ito po ang reading before the alignment after I got my SF: (Both front and back had negative alignments)


Ito naman po ang reading after the alignment done at Bridgestone Service Center:


I called the CASA when I found out about this and they told me that I can have it aligned outside of CASA.

I spent 3700 petot for alignment of which dapat ang CASA na ang gumawa bago pa na-release ang sasakyan.

Wow, thanks for this info! I am scheduled to pick up my unit from EJ tomorrow. I'll make sure the wheel alignment is done before I do the pick up.

Finally got our unit this afternoon from EJ, Hyundai Dasma. We did talk about the wheel alignment issue currently being discussed in this forum and he said mine was ok. Though I didn't see any print outs, I'm just taking his word for it. He has been referred by a lot of tsikoteers so his word is good enough for me

Mas maganda pa rin sir pa check ninyo kase wala naman mawawala if you do.

Pag di kase aligned, unang una delikado! Pangalawa magkaka problema yung pagpudpod ng gulong. Kung di pantay, madaling mag wear-out mga tires. Sayang naman mga gulong mo.

Pero safety is our priority kaya dapat lamang na pa check.

Have you also checked the tire pressure? Usually matigas masyado kung from CASA galing. I suggest na ibaba sa 30psi lang po.

Just my two cents po.

Makuha ko na ang SF ko this coming saturday straight from the airport to citimotors makati...owned din pala ng hyundai dasma ito...

excited na ko and i already asked EJ to check all items that Koji and others mentioned i.e. tire pressure, config of backup camera in the HU kasi baliktad daw, auto locking of doors, magic tint dark, rain gutter, etc...

ala daw stock na 18" oem mags pa swap ko sana dagdag lang ako. ala na rin daw stock ng mud guard..di bale punta na lang ako siguro maspro or other shops...

I cannot visit dealer as of this time since I'm still out of the country.
