No, I haven't received .yet a survey form from HARI and thanks by the way for the advice. In the meantime, observe ko nalang hanggang kailan ito mag fail and I will come back and post here the pics if any. Tested na kasi dahil sa fog lamps even if its an integral part of an OEM main part and failed kahit hindi pa umabot ng kahit six months from date of purchase, Warranty doesn't apply as per the manual -raw. So I have to pay from my own pocket. BTW, I paid 600+ for the new replacement lamp.
Mas mabuti pa isang lamp sa bahay dahil pag pumalpak may warranty at pweding palitan sa vendor. Pero sa SF walang warranty dahil lamp is consumable kahit cguro hindi pa umabot nang 4 months ang ilaw from the date of purchase. So kayo dyan mga future SF buyers pay attention to this bago kayo bumili ng SF.
I have to recalibrate my position that's why I lost interest in making followups. Let's see how really good their follow ups are. Guess what this is a very good lesson for me in choosing a car from Hyundai and I hope this will not be the last time I'm buying a car.
I just bought mine 3 weeks ago after 2 months of researching and deciding against other rides. I commend you on informing the public through this thread about your unfortunate experience with lights and warranty claims in Cebu, I also want to express my support for your problem to be resolved in the fastest possible time. If I were in your shoes, I would most certainly feel the same disappointment. Although (fingers crossed) it may just be an isolated case, as no car is absolutely perfect. In any case, please do update us on the progress and the cause of the moisture if ever possible. This is somewhat new to me, a relatively new car having moisture on its lights. In my humble experience, I only experience this problem on my old cars and those I often tamper with. Anyway, Happy New Year to you and I hope once the lights have been replaced, you'd feel differently.![]()
*godwhacker I dont know sir a,but you must definitely email HARI about your warranty claim, nagusap naba kayo ng SA mo? dapat full assistance siya sayo, kulitin mo
september niyo nabili unit niyo so covered ng 5year full warranty yan
kaya ko nasabi na ok naman service ng hyundai kasi dati yung unit namin may slight tranny problem thru our SA nakausap ang main office at napalitan ang unit as in the whole unit, dito ko talaga masasabi na di lahat ng unit perfect, 1 week lang nakuha na namin unit
or maybe the problem ay nasa dealership mismo
*godwhacker, My SF developed the same problem as yours but only in the headlight assembly. it happened when i was leaving the office at NIGHT right after the car wash (garden hose used). i noticed the moisture when i got home. but in the suceeding days, i did not find any moisture after car wash if i left the car to dry for a hour or so before using the headlights. it was just that one time. Thought i was just normal condensation and didn't bother much about it. Regarding moisture in taillight and fog lamps, I don't really open the fog lamps when i drive, so cannot say for sure when moisture somehow seeped in or not.
i suggest you guys try and see, if you open your headlights (for 1/2 hour or so ) right after car wash. See if moisture will form in the assembly. just my 2 cents
Mine persisted for a number of days kung may ulan. As of the present, it is already dry but not sure if this problem would be recurring. The fact that for a brand new car with most of the lights developing moisture, something must be wrong in how the lights were made. But I fully understand that not all will pass quality checks from the factory. Sampling lang kasi yan on batches. Pag na tyempohan ka, malas mo nalang like what happened to me. And I understand that there are isolated cases like mine. My concern is if the quality is doubtful malamang there is a greater likelihood of failure on the headlamps as exemplified already in one of the fog lamps that had the same symptoms and went dead. The SA insisted that moisture had nothing to do with the bulb busting. I am not a car experts but the fact of the matter is that it first developed moisture and then later ceased to do its function. So how can you relate that to a normal car user like?
Nag-usap na kami ng SA for a number of times and the same story I'm getting each time. Thank you so much for the advice to directly get in touch with HARI. This will be my last recourse but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to my dealership how professional they are in handling such matters. I reserve the privilege to discuss my problem directly with HARI because in the first place it is not my job to do that. We have a common focal point and that is the dealership. Sa akin okay lang so long as there is a certain time table to do it and both of us would have peace of mind. Sinabi lang na basta it will take "months". For how many months hindi nila masabi. And I'm feed up. Actually I believe my dealership and I even have doubts that the delay lies somewhere up the dealership because the SA was already explicit in saying that no approval yet from HARI.
So guys out there na may balak bumili ng SF, think twice before doing that. As I've said earlier, the car overall is good even with my current problem. Isolated case lang po ito nangyayari sa akin ngayon but when you purchase an SF you have to factor in track record of Hyundai's aftersales support.
Hindi na ko nakadaan ng Bocaue bro. Nagmamadali umuwi kasi attend pa ng dinner party. I was trying to keep the speed from 80-100kph (4 adult passengers including me with 2 weighing more than 200lbs.) but it was really tempting so at times I went as fast as 120kph (approx. 2100rpm).As expected the ride was excellent, imo. One more trip and its ready for 1000pms. Then I'd really need the speed.
See ya at the EB guys.![]()
i agree that when you buy a new car you should think twice, but it is not only the SF even honda and toyota have bad after sales service specially with warranty claims. I have experienced that personally, and it always boils down to the dealers. Do not put off contacting HARI as your last resort, i have had several bad experiences with SAs and these are from Honda, they never give you the true story of what is happening and most of the time when they say they contacted the main office, take it from me they have not. If you want quick action contact HARI and they will resolve this quickly.
Good day to you sir. I tend to agree with DragonHeart. This thread might be your last recourse but certainly, contacting HARI would be better. I do understand its not your job to do so, but to ease your pain and to restore some peace of mind, I humbly think reporting this to HARI would speed things up rather than depending on your SA after said months have passed. It would only take up a little of your time, imo. The email address was posted by DragonHeart for your convenience in the previous posts. Again, wish you would consider the suggestion.
Bakit ganun?

Whoa, Daily pa naman ako mag wash with garden hose sa car. Bigla ako na-paranoid. I just finished washing the car and turned all the lights up for 30mins. Wala naman ako napasin na moist. Although hindi ko pa nagamit during the rain at night. So, now I'm praying for rain para masubukan kung mag moist siya. But this is something not to be taken lightly. I'll check sa Hyundai E.Rod first thing tom if they're open. Thanks, godsmacker for the heads up.
