Hyundai ACCENT Hatch CRDI 1.6

Got this from Top Gear Philippines, from niky tamayo. Siya ngreview ng accent crdi.

I know that Top gear thread. I made some comments also. I also thought so before that there was. I even went to the mechanic during PMS & he said wala raw dpf. Kung may dpf, may warning light yan sa dash kasi it will flash if the dpf gets clogged. Yung HGMO oil na gamit, di rin pang DPF kasi iba yung ACEA grade. Meron lang sya EGR at catalytic converter. Nililinis kasi yan pag 20k at 40k PMS. Niky just thought it was a dpf kasi he said "either that or a cat in a hat".

Can you post pictures of your new rides? May iba na palang mga kulay na lumabas, aside from the red, white, silver & light blue. New ones I've seen so far are black & sonic silver. Ngayon may dazzling blue na run pala, ang hands siguro nun

Anong MODs/Upgrades nagawa nyo? Should I keep it as is para sa warranty?

IMHO, better to keep it stock. Pagkatapos na lang ng warranty saka ka mag-Upgrade.
Mags lang gusto ko iUpgrade sa unit ko. 195/50r16. Yung iba may nabasa na ko na pinapalitan nila air filter - K&N

Yes sir yung sonic silver parang slightly lighter version nung carbon gray nung 2013. Yung orange available lang ata sa automatic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, diba yung EGR blanking eh para sa nagkakaroon ng black smoke? Wala pa ko nakikita na accent crdi na may blak smoke.

That is my understanding too. Pero i have read somewhere some montero owners blank their EGRs as preventive measure to black smoke.

Sakin lang naman to, pero magdedesign ba naman ang mga car manufacturers ng engine na pwede pala namang wala?

Example yang EGR, ilalagay ba nila yan sa engine kung wala siyang gamit?

If you dudes can google it, yung EGR was installed as an environmental requirement to lower nitrox emissions from diesel exhaust. A drawback of this is that the acidity of the oil increases, hence we have the CI-4 rated oils with the higher total base number to address the acidity. That is also a reason why diesels go through more frequent OC since TBN might get depleted. Fortunately, Hyundai diesel engines are made in Europe & are more sophisticated than the Japanese engines, kaya di mausok.

^ i totally agree with you po. my 2007 1st gen tucson hindi pa rin mausok, once ko lang nabuksan at nalinisan ang egr at 45k odo. fairly clean pa naman sia at that time. using diesel from caltex, shell & petron when ever no unioil station around.

I completely agree with you sir. And based on the replies to this, I'm glad Hyundai did a good job at keeping black smoke away from their engines.

Thanks for this information sir! It is actually my first time to own a Korean car and I am happy knowing about how Hyundai has raised its bar in terms of the quality of their engines.

Yung DPF naman, buti nlang wala HB natin nito. Di kasi pwede ang high sulfur diesel kasi pag nagbara at nag solidify yung sulfur sa DPF kailangan na palitan. Mahal rin itong part na into, parang P40k
