tecnically, 2012 model pa rin naman yung current na binibenta. as far as i know, minor facelift lang dapat:

2011 Hyundai Sonata facelift – subtle changes all around

    nothing worth waiting for.

I think the minor details creates a more dignified look other than it has its original appeal. The hairline turn signal markers give that more refined look in comparison to the current model we have here. No offense just an opinion. The wheels look more sportier and again more appealing. The new tail light lens and LED creates a better sense of design much appealing than what is current. The grill is rather tamed more matured, but does not lose the appeal, I prefer the current one through because it really embodies the distinct fluidic sculpture. Nonetheless, the new one works well for a more matured and dignified stance. I hope the come out with new colors similar to Jaguar XJ - Nissan Teana's - new civic and new impreza that purplish cherry sparkling colored vehicle. I dunno what you call the color they offer, but it is refined and refreshing. If I were to purchase a new Sonata, it would be a fairly good wait. The new facelift design and style, even if it is minor - is still refreshing.. I like it!

Enjoying my new ride so far. Here are my initial observations:

    1. FC is 6Km/L for my daily rush hour drive from Katipunan to Salcedo Village. This is just slightly lower than my Mazda 3 1.6 so I'm pretty satisfied.
    2. I wasn't too hot about getting a red car but opted to do so because of the massive discount offered. It's not as bad as I thought it would be pala. In fact, it's starting to grow on me.
    3. The sound system is OK. I was expecting better but it's decent enough that I can't really complain.
    4. Power is acceptable, nothing great but good enough for city driving.
    5. Roofline is a bit low, especially at the back. Opening the sunroof visors help make it seem more spacious.

It may sound like I'm not too happy about the car but the simple fact is, you get a lot of car for the money. Good thing I didn't go for the legacy. It simply isn't worth the 500k difference if you aren't a speed freak.

My thoughts exactly. Only time I could justify a Legacy purchase (aside from it being macho) is if I really need the engine derived from the WRX.

Got mine from Hyundai Quezon Ave. They were kind enough to deliver the unit to Makati at 7PM!

Still getting used to how long and wide this car is. Sumayad na nga ako sa curb driving out of a parking lot.

As of now, the only upgrade I am considering is swapping out the HU for one with GPS Navigation and Bluetooth. Is this advisable? I would like to retain the stock speakers, amp, and steering wheel controls. Do aftermarket head units come with a mic so I can use it as a bluetooth handsfree accessory?

Went thru this only to end up returning the china oem head unit and sticking with stock. To answer your question, yes they usually have an integrated mic you can use for handsfree calling.

My experience was not good though I didn't get mine from carlurker. I had issues with sound quality, alternator humming, intermittent sound, poor tv reception, bluetooth calling echo, touchscreen responsiveness and oem panel fit. I ended up getting a jabra freeway since bluetooth calling was the most important thing for me.

I'd suggest getting a standalone Garmin GPS with Bluetooth capabilities instead. Way cheaper and IMO, saves the headache in the future.

*jhnkvn yeah i think this would be a better option. i'm actually pretty happy already with the stock radio and speakers of the sonata. i'll probably stick to my ipad3G (+ wife as navigator) though. i just want a clean dash with no accessories sticking out :P

*jhnkvn may naririnig ka ba na sound coming from the tires na parang uumuugong or umuungol? Ours has that sound everytime na dumadaan sa asphalt surface. It is even louder than the engine sound

None. My only complaints with the Solus is that it's pretty noisy for a "silent" tire on high speeds.

That's what I'm wondering also. Before there is that noise also in high speeds but since December 2011, there is that annoying sound coming from the tires even during low speed, basta yung surface is made of asphalt. It manifested when the Sonata's odometer clocked at 17,000+ kms.
