2011 Hyundai Accent issues, problems in general

You mentioned "resetting", so you're not on Euro 2? I do not experience any lag on my Euro 2 unit (1.4AT June 2011). I've had several experience wherein I had to stop while on a steep incline and stepping on the gas (normal press) immediately elicited response. But before the update, i experienced lag , mostly making u-turn.

After our knocking issue was 'fixed' by resetting the ecu, another problem that surfaced with our AT/1.4 lemon is the dreaded 'lag' when you press the accelerator pedal rather quickly..in which for what seems like an eternity and there is a dump truck barreling towards you, nothing happens. Heavens forbid you are on an incline, the car is just making a high engine noise but nothing is happening! This is really frustrating just trying to leave our inclined gate entrance. We are afraid of this car. For the first time in our over twenty years of driving experience we conclude this is truly a dangerous vehicle which poses an extreme risk to us. We can't drive it for an indeterminate distance from our home for fear we will figure into an accident. Some irrational fear kicks in. And Hyundai insists there is nothing wrong with the car. They didn't even fix my auto alarm and door lock issue. So pissed off at this juncture. I'm at 7.5k and was wondering if you guys know how much the casa charge for my next scheduled pms/oil change at 10k? What is it that they replace or look at during this schedule?

Doubtful if mine is on Euro2. Will find out tomorrow when we bring the car in for this problem. I sometimes wish they just left the knocking thing alone..I probably would still have a pretty decent acceleration just like before. Be careful with what you wish for I know but this is just driving us bonkers.

Ok, sa wakas I'm on Euro2 program. Took the car to the Casa last week and after loading up with several people on a diagnostic test drive with laptop hooked up, the stalling (on incline) or lag/loss of power issue seems to have abated.

Meron daw silang inerase na code and things seem to be better now.

They almost even installed a new actuator (?) for my door lock/alarm complaint but regrettably, the correct wiring required was out of stock. They will have to call me back for the install.

I was almost impressed with their service only if it didn't take all day to fix. We were there before 0800. Left the car with the SA, proceeded to and waited at the nearest mall (SM) to open at 10 (no other place to hang out kasi). We were notified around 4pm the car was ready.

They even gave it a carwash and me and the wife were treated to a free tea/coffee.

may mga tanong ako sa inyong lahat..musta tunog ng makina nyo? saken tunog diesel na sya i dunno why, nung kinuha ko sya sa casa as a new car wala akong marinig sa makina at smooth yung takbo. after a year ito na, nag labasan na yung mga hindi ka nais -nais to name a few

– knocking (matagal ko na narinig to after reaching 5k)
– tunog diesel
– nag je-jerk pag ni release ko agad yung clutch after changing to second gear(normal lang ba yun?kelangan ba dahan-dahan ang release?)
– pag mag shift ako ng gear parang may sumasabit sa gear box ba yun? hindi sya smooth shifting

overall hindi ako masaya sa performance ng makina, para bang madumi o barado na yung dinadaluyan ng langis at gas. regular naman yung pms ko nsa –16k na yung takbo.

kung mag euro 2 ba ako may tendency na mawala yun?

Southern Luzon..way down...sorry to dampen your hopes. I read the horror stories others experience in Manila.

Na reprogram na yung ecu ko to Euro2 and so far nawala na yung engine-knock..cross-fingers..

Itong last complaint ko about delayed response/lag/loss of power or whatever you want to call it, seems to have also been eliminated..still on observation stage.

Mine is A/T with 7k so far..bought Mar 2011 at Caleb Motors Naga

Just take your car back to the Casa and have them address the issue. Kakainis yan na andaming sakit ng ulo. Mine so far ay di naman tunog diesel pero ang iba nakaka experience din nito..meron dito nag post sa youtube ng tunog diesel na yan...siguro sa una lang pag di pa nawarmup.

Yang clutch syempre pakiramdaman yan..once you feel na nag engage na yung gear eh slowly but deliberately release the clutch pedal. no need to depress the pedal all the way to the floor.

I like what I see now..6.9L/100...before it was 9L/100-which translates to 11kms/liter. With unleaded fuel, I am averaging 14.4kms/L

mag Euro 2 ka na sir. almost everyone who upgraded had improved performance. Wala pa akong nabasang problema.
