Katawa naman itong gas engine ng Accent kung namimili ng fuel. Mas acceptable for me kung sports car ito like GC

Sa CRDi like mine kahit anung type ng diesel from different station pwede naman

The answer to that complaint is this:

If you experience problems with a certain fuel or brand, why persist in using it? Back in the days when Blaze was first reformulated to "97" (before Blaze 100), many sports car owners were complaining of poor performance on that gasoline compared to V-Power.

If you back-read in the forums, you'll see that Ghosthunter and I had a discussion about it... we both switched to V-Power and saw an increase in power on the dyno from the supposedly "lower" octane fuel. This new Blaze is finally a better product than V-Power, but the octane is so high that it really does cause hard starting on most vehicles (a side effect of super-high octane).

If you can't trust the station, don't fuel up there. You can't expect manufacturers to warranty their products if you're filling them with goat's pee. Which means... fill up your CRDi vehicles or new gasoline vehicles to the brim at a decent station before out of town trips, and schedule your fuel stops to coincide with towns with better gas stations.

    -

This is why I mostly use the Crosswind on out-of-town trips... because I know it will work with goat's pee.

Go for it. At least the difference in price is not so big, while the octane benefits are still there. Despite the added cost, a lot of us find it a good idea to use Shell fuels, as they seem to have some of the best quality control (station-to-station) of the majors.

    ----

NOTE: I am not saying there is nothing wrong with the Accent engine. All modern engines are expected to adjust themselves for varying octane and fuel conditions. But if 95 RON is recommended for your engine (and I've experienced this before... my "economy car" Sentra required 95 RON), then it's better that you stick to that.

i wonder if this is only isolated to the 1.4 litre accents. is the 1.6 accent blue model affected as well? its kinda alarming for potential buyers and those who are waiting on their units.

Good day mga bossing. Maybe becaus i'm using Unleaded ng SeaOil. malapit kasi samin at the price diference of P1.80/L.

Paubos na rin to gas ko, i"ll fill it up to full with Shell unleaded. Then i'll be using same until 2nd week of May para pure Shell unleaded na lahat. If the knocking sound persist, then i have to have it checked sa casa.

i hope this resolves the issue. Akala ko nasira ko yata, kasi minsan when i shift to 4, pumapasok sya sa 2. Makakasira ba to mga bossing sa sitwasyon ganito? wrong gear shift. Minsan nga yung 1 pumapasok sa 3, namamatayan tuloy ako ilang beses. sobrang liit ba ng clearance ng gear shifting blocks, or its just me.

I appreciate any response from you mga bossing. Thanks a lot.

nasa driver lang problema nung sa gear pre, ako yung from 3 to 4 lang issue ko dati, kaya ung RPM pumapalo ng mataas hehe, hanggang 4K RPM lang naman inaabot, sanayin mo lang kamay mo na from 3 to 4th gear diretso lang pababa, practice lang yan..

Please keep us updated. I was planning to get this car instead of a vios. With the D4D issues ng Fort na nababasa ko, which thankfully I am not encountering so far, believe me, nakakapraning bumili ng car na may ganitong potential issues specially kung sa gas pa siya maselan.

so far, wala akong naririnig dun sa Accent ko. i'm not sure, but this could be because i don't know which sound is to be considered abnormal since this is only my first car (and i know very little about cars).

i also tried filling my Accent up with petron unleaded pero 1000 pesos lang, that time i didn't know where the nearest shell station is and 1 bar na lng ako. after that, shell unleaded na ulit.

    questions mga sir:
    1. is the knocking sound that prominent na maririnig mo even if your windows are closed while driving?

    2. do you also hear the knocking sound even when just starting the car?

    3. meron na po bang nag-upload ng video ng sound? :D

    thanks!

Engine knock should sound like this. The knocking sound is noticeably abnormal so it should be easy to detect. It sounds like a fan hitting something slowly.

-Hyundai Mechanics say it's a fuel knock. im not sure what the difference is. I was probably wrong by saying it's an engine knock i just assumed it was.

-when the knock was still there, it sounded more of a loose chain or spocket sound na nag fre-free wheel.

-the knock occured on my third gas-up of petron unleaded.

-i've been meaning to record the sound but i was more focused on trying to solve it on my own than letting the public know about it. Now that my engine is a little quite im afraid to go back to petron and start all over again.

by the way, out of curiosity, i recorded my engine just after starting it on my garage (didn't drive it out) and here it is: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rslW8slGhRM"]2011 Accent Engine Sound[/ame].

i think i have that sound, but is quiet enough to hear it while driving. or maybe it's not that kind of "knocking" sound, i'm not sure.

I agree with you niky. Not all gasoline at all stations are created, or in this case, mixed equally, or up to par. Better to stick with the more reputable or trusted bigger stations. Anyone tried Caltex Silver or Gold?

I remember our '97 1.6L Vitara only being happy with 95 octane, but out '00 2.5L V6 Grand Vitara being ok with 93 octane. Unfortunately, this might also be the case, wherein the supposed more budget-oriented car needs the more expensive fuel.
