talaga? hehe good thing i never tried that. the only reason why i used to fill up with caltex before is their tie up with HSBC (may 3% rebate monthly), pero lugi ka rin kasi walang kwenta talaga gasolina nila.
shell and petron lang ako, but mas ok for me yung petron kasi better mileage plus may bdo rewards pa. hehe
KABALEN!
Before getting the our Fiesta, I10 was one of our candidates.
In Hyundai Pampanga, the SA had us wait around for 1 hour despite setting an appointment the day before and confirmation the morning of the day. My degree yata sa medicine yung I10 nila kaya mahaba waiting time.
This is for a simple test drive. Ano pa kaya pag after sales na?
Nabanas na kami at nilayasan na namin.
I'm sure you got better treatment kaya natuloy and Accent mo. To each his own, 'ika nga. Siguro para sa Fiesta kami.
Anyway, wala naman yata knock yung engine mo. It might be beneficial to the forum kung anong brand, fuel type and location of gas station you use.
Logically, if the fuel is the problem, dapat yung sa yo meron din knock.
Yup i got bad reviews also from Hyundai Pampanga, kaya napunta ako sa Balintawak, regarding sa last statement mo, isn't it the other way around?
Logically, if the engine is the problem, dapat yung sa yo meron din knock? Since Hyundai initially is blaming the quality of our fuels sa Pinas...
Ok naman unit ko since as advised here, I have been using shell fuels from the start...
"kayarti na ning saken ne"
patay! puro petron pa naman pagas ko.. kaka pa fulltank ko pa lang ng xcs kagabi.. mas mahal lang siya sa unleaded ng 0.75 eh.. hindi ko pa nalalabas yung kotse today.. at around 300km pa lang yung accent ko..
ano naba sabi ng hyundai about this..
pero seriously bro, for the few who posted about this matter, i can only assume there are others out there who experienced the same.
"talaga naman mayarti la"
My bad! I made the assumption that you used low octane fuel not of the Shell brand. If you did, your engine is fine and the TS's engine has a problem unique to him only.
He also posted that Shell lessened the knock.
Now going to the engine, If it will only accept branded fuel of higher octane to operate normally, while other engines of the same class (entry level, economy) I can only speak for the new Fiesta and my old clunker City 2002, (ewan ko sa Vios) is the engine then properly designed for local conditions?
Lets put it to an analogy: Ten people eat the same 5 dishes at the same time. One gets a bad tummy, is the food bad or does the one guy have a "picky" stomach?
Now accepting that the Accent is "picky" with its fuel, we come to the "Live with it" motto. If one cannot live with it, benta na lang or soli sa dealer.
If this is a fact, Hyundai should state it clearly so that future buyers may have the proper information before "marrying" the Accent.
Please share with us the feeling of being limited to a single brand and higher octane. Was this what you understood and expected before buying the Accent?
I guess it still works to not buy a car on its maiden year. Sayang. Antay mode muna kami. I guess 3 cases out of only a few sold units still out there is a little bothering.
Actually we are all waiting for Hyundai’s answer to this, picky or not?
If it is going to be picky ,I think it was not a best buy for me, then no choice but to go with the live with it motto.
Honestly I am disappointed, who wouldn’t be?
I hope Hyundai will have a clearer answer.![]()
If you bought it because you like it, wag mo na pagsisihan. In my opinion, mas maganda kung Fuel ang prob. Kung dadami tong cases na ganito, it will be like the notorious D4D issue na hindi ma pinpoint kung Fuel or Engine part/Suction Control Valve issue. And bottomline is while it is so wrong to just simply "live with it", wala tayo magagawa until a definite answer is given.
Kung Fuel and madumi, dapat lahat ng D4D that use the same fuel, sira din.
I'll buy the Accent someday when all of this is cleared kasi its a good looking motherF.
Hindi ako accent user pero share lang experience since may topic na petron, nung may vios pa ko, sinubukan ko mag-blaze first time ko nagkaron ng engine!!! Balik PTT tuloy ulit ako...
Faulty analogy.
It's more like: You bought a TV. And it says multivolt on the back (110-220).
You assume it's safe to use here, since we are 220v.
You bring it home to the province. You plug it in. Two hours later, it blows up.
Turns out that, thanks to the power surges that we so commonly get here in the Philippines, your house voltage spikes to 240v. And since you didn't buy a power strip or a transformer, your TV is now kaput.
(I've experienced this, too)
Is that the manufacturer's fault?
Same here... the Accent is built for 95 RON, but can run on 93. If it's pure 93 and not poorly mixed 92 or 91 or 89 (you'd be surprised at how bad some stations can get).
The answer? Buy at a good station, buy the mid-level gasoline at least (not regular unleaded) and you're safe.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
