2011 Accent AT - Engine Knock!

Ang problema nito pag hindi nabigyan ng solution agad baka masira na mga makina natin. Totoo ngang pwede mabutas yung piston/rings at malaking gastusin ito dahil dyan sa engine knock na yan. Papano kung after 1-2 years pa bago ma solusyonan? Masusubukan talaga yang 5 year warranty ng hyundai. Eh papano kung nasira na after warranty?

Sana nga available pa accent ko by that time, im really itching to dispose my unit right now. Naghahanap lang ako ng buyer na magkasundo sa presyo. Si santa fe naman baka hindi matuloy, baka mapunta kay sorento hehehehhe. If ever i'll be going baka ang dadalhin ko si gs, nagtatampo na sakin. Sana nga may magpunta din mga new accent owners para grand eb ng mga accent engine knockers hahhaha, ang theme song namin yung kay guns n roses na "knocking on heavens door" hahahah, yan na ginagawa ko ngayon, tawanan ang problema.

Willing naman ako to help out sa mga fellow accent owners natin. Tagal narin ako tumatambay sa thp, pero ang problem ko time, tagal ko na member sa thp because of my other hyundai rides pero until now hindi pa ako makapag official member status hehe. I only attended mga eb nila once, and singit pa yun sa schedule ko. Si sir naruto and graystar mababait kausap yun. Sila yung mga board members sa thp and maybe they can help us out sa hari.

Yung accent ko naman kahit knocking kaya naman ma achieve fuel consumption mo. Basta wala lang traffic, tried resetting yung fc meter ko one time and drove for 2 days sa very light traffic. I got 9.8l/100km on day 1 and naging 11.2l/100km sa second day (nagkaron na kasi ng konting traffic).manual computation siguro would be a little lower. Masyadong optimistic kasi yung fc meter natin. Hindi lang sa hyundai but other brands na may fc readout as well

Sharing info might help others with knocking issue. My unit white 1.4 AT. Odo 4300km. Got it last march 30, Initially i thought i was not affected since knocking noise is very faint. After reading complaints here i checked and researched about it and apparently my unit has knocking issue too. Noise sounds like you have marbles inside the engine when feathering gas pedal with 1000 to 2000rpm range. Since casa's dont have solution yet i just tried to ignore it. Last week got a chance to joyride a bit at slex. Road was clear and got the chance to drive fast. Tried to keep it at 160kph as long as i could. After that run i noticed the engine knock issue is not manifesting anymore. So far up to now been observing the car closely so far so good. Maybe the others could try and hopefully that solves their engine knock issue too. By the way i used caltex silver during that highway run. Caltex gives better pull than shell unleaded although fuel consumption wise shell lasts longer.

Probably nag clear yung knocking kasi tanggal mga carbon deposit buildup when you ran your accent at that speed. But once you go back to city driving, there will again be a build up of the deposits maybe knocking will resume. I could be wrong though.
Sir can you post your findings long term? Say after another thousand kms city driving if the knocking returns.

saka this pass few days parang lumakas ako sa gasolina last time 8.5/100 Liters lang lagi FC ko sa odometer ngaun 9.1-9.6 na di ko alam kung bumilis lang ako mag drive mas madiin umapak or what haist!

I don't think carbon deposits ang culprit nitong engine knock. Kasi if carbon deposits, in my own opinion, althroughout RPM level, lalabas yong knock/ping. Ito, lalabas lang on mid 1500-2000RPM.

And by the way, Im using petron XCS right now for testing purposes. I can't seem to find any knock/ping on the engine. Still testing though...

After a full tank of XCS, I might dive in into a petron xtra unleaded fuel, para matest ng husto.

Sir, water coming out from the exhaust means that your engine is clean.. Hindi po masama yan..

Kakaiba nangyari today, dunno if its due to the sudden downpour and malamig yung weather, or maybe kaka fillup ko palang ng caltex silver (previous fillups ko puro petron xcs or unleaded). But.... No engine knock for today, 30 mins ko rin tinesting pero wala talaga. Hindi kaya nasanay na ears ko? Mas malakas din humatak itong caltex silver na 93 octane compared sa xcs na 95 octane

Yung akin pag low speed and low rpm lang talaga, pag hinahataw walang knock.

AFAIK isa pa lang yung naka 1.6 Accent blue dito na nagpost sa tsikot.
Pero sa fb page, there is one owner there of a 1.6 Accent blue... sabi niya ala daw issue yung unit niya.

That's good to hear. However, that engine knock issue should not be present - whatever kind of fuel here sa Pinas ang gamitin... Kasi yung iba naman na sasakyan hindi ganyan e. I hope you guys get it fixed...

I guess you are wrong Sir.
Dami din apektadong sasakyan (knocking) dulot ng kalidad ng ating petrolyo.

I think it has been posted on this thread before, backread ka lang. Even subaru cars were also mentioned there...
More often than not, its because of unreliable gasoline stations, so as advised by some experienced posters here, choose where you gas up your cars...

Up until now now di padin natin alam kung gas quality issue itong sa Accent, since there are a lot of things that can cause knocking.
