Is the engine knock an engine problem or a suspension problem?
Yan nga din nabasa ko sa manual, since hindi naman tayo eu ang minimum ron is 91, petron unleaded is 93. So kung hindi uubra sa 93 does that mean na some units naka set ang timing for euro? Afaik yung mga late model hyundais are detuned just to meet the asian fuel requirement. Considering the 1.4 engine ng accent makes almost if not the same torque and horsepower as a 1.5 vios. Kahit yung 1.4 fiesta down ang hp and torque ratings vs accent. Kaya siguro tinotope ang 1.4 sa 93 ron. Pag na retard siguro ang timing baka maayos na ang problema, downsides lang malamang bababa ang power. Just a wild guess.
ano ba pinagkaiba nang premium sa unleaded gas? kase saken naka isang full tank na ko nang premium gas so far wala naman ako naririnig na engine knocking sounds? sa caltex ako nag kakarga withs is 95 ron. ok lang ba na premium kinakarga ko? kase sabi sa manual only unleaded fuel lang daw?hina kase humatak kapag unleaded gas? lol
All gasolines being sold are unleaded. The only difference between the premium and the non-premium ones is the octane rating. Unless you gas up on pumps which are tagged as 'regular', those are leaded.
Sa mga may engine knock, 93 octane pa gas nyo? Pag start ba and maintain with 95, this will not happen??
Dapat kasi kung talagang 95 RON ang requirement sabihin kagad pag release pa lang like sa swift namin...
Good day mga bossing. Kala ko ako lang may problema sa knocking sound na yan. 1 month pa lang 1.4L MT accent ko, i believe mga 3rd week ko nasimulan narinig yung "topek" sound na yan, lalo na kung mag gi-gear change ako a higher level. ang tunog nya yung parang sa 2nd hand cars kapos sa power dahil naka low gear ka (inappropriate of that speed and weight). Maybe becaus i'm using Unleaded ng SeaOil. malapit kasi samin at the price diference of P1.80/L.
Paubos na rin to gas ko, i"ll fill it up to full with Shell unleaded. Then i'll be using same until 2nd week of May para pure Shell unleaded na lahat. If the knocking sound persist, then i have to have it checked sa casa.
i hope this resolves the issue. Akala ko nasira ko yata, kasi minsan when i shift to 4, pumapasok sya sa 2. Makakasira ba to mga bossing sa sitwasyon ganito? wrong gear shift. Minsan nga yung 1 pumapasok sa 3, namamatayan tuloy ako ilang beses. sobrang liit ba ng clearance ng gear shifting blocks, or its just me.

Ganito ang nangyayari sa kin ngayon, feeling ko after i gas up sa petron unleaded, dati caltex ako or shell e. Doon nga kaya yun??
Pag naubos gas' try nyo 95 ron (xcs, gold, etc) 'the price diff is nothing if this will solve the knocking issue or lessen it...
^^imho wala sa gasolina yan, i first experienced engine knocking using petron unleaded, nag switch ako sa petron xcs which has a higher octane and hindi naman nabawasan ang knock, although mas lumakas ang hatak niya. Its not the station or the brand that is the problem, but the unit itself. I gas up my other cars on the same station and wala naman ako naging problema. The problem is the ecu needs reflashing, at the time nireklamo ko yung knocking issue, under upgrading daw yung software sa casa. I need to go back probably first week of september for the reflash/update. Sana nga maayos na after that, or ibabalik ko sa kanila yung headache na binigay nila sakin.

Hyundai e.rod yung casa ko, may nagreklamo na daw sa kanila before na engine knock pero 1.4m/t daw yun, first time lang daw sila naka encounter ng a/t. Nag reflash sila ng ecu nung unang complainant naayos naman daw. Kaso nung time na nagpa service ako nag uupdate sila ng system nila kasi may mg new software ng elantra at sonata, hindi daw pwedeng hugutin para ma reflash yung ecu ko and pinababalik ako sa sept.
Regarding the knocking sound mo when changing gears, baka tightening lang ng cv joints mo yung problem. Although yung tikatik sound possible engine knock yun. Iba yung term na kumatok ang makina sa engine knock although sa tagalog literally it means that. Ang tagalog term ng engine knock is "tope"
Pag sinabi kasing kumatok sira na yun. Yung tope naman incomplete combustion dahil may delay or diprensya sa timing ng sparkplugs etc etc. Hindi naman masisira agad ang makina pag tumope pero in the long run if not addressed magkakaproblema nga. Usually modern cars have knock sensors that delay/adjust the timing based on the quality of fuel used. Kaso in the accent's case, malamang hindi tuned ang ecu sa fuel supply natin.
bratski, just went to Hyundai Greenhills. inupdate yung ECU ko, nawala na yung knocking sound, kaya raw pala ganun before kasi sa Korea raw walang 10% bio ethanol ang unleaded nila kaya inayos siguro config ng ecu. Nawala na talaga yung knocking sound sa change gears. Kaya lang parang napansin ko na medyo slow ang response sa second gear, pag nag shift ako from usually taking a turn. Try ko nga mag change ng fuel. Pero defininetely nawala yung knocking sound. Hindi ko napacheck yung slow response sa second gear kanina kasi sobra ako excited nawala na yung knocking sound hehehehe. Dumating ako 8:30 am, 9:30pm tapos na.
Sir sino SA mo sa hyundai GH? Si Mon ba nag suggest mag update ng ECU mo? I also went there last Monday to report the knocking sound, mine is 1.4AT. Hindi kse specifically binangit saken ung ECU update coz wala pa daw kelangan i update. Nasabi lang saken they just refreshed/"reset" the ECU. Mejo napansin ko nga ung slow response ng acceleration after lalo na from a complete stop. i had step on the gas a bit more now.Base sa observation ko parang from a complete stop it starts with 2nd gear so i had to step on it much harder para mag downshift..
pero wala na kong engine knock na narrinig after that reset.
I just had my 5K PMS yesterday and they reprogrammed my ECU. super slow ang response lalo na from a full stop or kapag paakyat. kanina nung paakyat ako ng building parking sobrang hina ng hatak, there was a time na parang walang hatak so I had to really step on the gas. Noticable talaga yung difference. This is not a solution at all..its just another headache.
Ako rin, si Mon din SA ko sa Greenhills. after the update ayun, slow response na din. Haay. Sana naman may solusyon na kasi kung hindi mapipilitan din ako na mag request na replacement ng ECU kasi di ko kayang matanggap na 3 months palang sasakyan ko at 1500km tapos ganito ang takbo. mag countdown nga tayo mga sir ng mga nag pa update ng ECU and got slow response
