Puro truck driver pala tayo. Also drove an elf before.

Yan talaga trade off ng GS vs Hiace. Ride quality, handling, power, braking and refinement go to the GS. Durability, resale value, low cost of maintenance go to the Hiace. Kung yung lumang 102 hp 2.5L engine pa not really much of a comparison.
Nakita mo na ba yung NV350 premium? Priced to sell at 1.65M. Better ride quality and more space than the GL Grandia. Yung lang di kasya sa most parking buildings.

Yan una pinuntahan.
Pros: made in japan sabi ng plate katabi ng driver seat. Modern engine. Naka off sya pero Gauges look better vs hiace gl and starex. Maluwag.
May fogliggts, kahit walng fog ilaw parin yun
Cons. Yun 2.285m height. Fixed/bolted ang last row unlike sa GL na fold up anytime you want more space
Parang magaan tunog pag sara pinto but baka dahil naka bukas lahat pinto ng demo unit kaya wala vacuum effect. At parang smaller ang view sa windshield.
Wala discount.
Maganda yan summary mo sa dillema ko. In so many words lang.

Tried and tested na sila pareho. Kung longer than that yung Hiace.

Yes bro. So far even with suspension parts failing early I'm still happy with our GS. Parts are affordable naman sa labas. I just wish the factory fit shocks on our KDM unit were available locally.
The after sales OEM Mobis Sachs shocks are decent quality but the factory fitted ones are on another level. I get the feeling that in general the factory fitted parts are much better quality than Mobis.
dumalaw na sa dealer.
wala pala ABS and middle trim na Vgt. kahit pala yun top of the line mukha bare. need to apply the cash discount para ma pa accesorized (HU, reverse view cam etc).
laking ginhawa pala ang driving position para sa owner/driver ng starex lalo na subukan ko back to back with grandia. i like the 2 rows of rear seats nasa rails pero mukha 8 lang comfortable kahit 10 seater. white illumination instruments na pala hindi green.
Guys may i ask for your help. I'm doing some research and writing down things para in the event na kelangan ko na magpalit, naka ready na ako.
Given: 2012 Starex Gold Crdi A/T
If price is not a concern, what is the best given na available sya sa pinas:
1) Fully Synthetic Engine Oil (minimum CH-4 spec) - is this right?
2) ATF (minimum Red-1 spec)
3) Brake Pads
4) Brake Rotors
5) Shock Absorber (Best = lambot ng ride and not sa tibay)
6) Tires (Best = lambot ng ride)
Thanks![]()
1. Pinakamagandang langis na nagamit ko sa GS yung Motul CRDI specific, nasa P600/liter yun, pero dapat magandang oil filter din ang gamitin to get full benefit, Baldwin oil filter ang gamit ko, not sure of the model/part number basta yung pang Pajero.
2. Yung ATF naman Zic yung gamit ko, basta yung pasok sa specs natin, mas maganda kung pa dialysis nyo po then change transmission filter as well
5. Sa shocks naman di pa ako nagpapalit.
6. Tires naman I go for Kumho Portran KC53, yung stock tires either Hankook or Nexen, di tumagal sa amin, makapal pa sana pero na oblong
1) Fully Synthetic Engine Oil (minimum CH-4 spec) - is this right? - Motul
2) ATF (minimum Red-1 spec) - Motul
3) Brake Pads - factory fitted KDM pads if you can find them
5) Shock Absorber (Best = lambot ng ride and not sa tibay) - factory fitted KDM shocks if you can find them
6) Tires (Best = lambot ng ride) - Hankook/Kumho for rim 17s
Ours is an HVX, so the factory parts it came with when new may be different from HARI units. The brake pads and shocks I am sure are different.

Is this the oil sa Casa? Also, should i go for 5w-30 or 5w-40. (yung akin kasi 5w-40 fully synthetic sa casa since day 1. Ngayon its 57k kms na).
2) Yung Motul na ATF ba na gamit nyo is Red-1 spec? Parang hindi yata sir. Yung Zic ATF na Red-1 hindi din available dito sa pinas unless you know somewhere i can buy it from?
Thanks
Just realized same lang pala mga sagot ko kay sir ronw123w124.
1.) Motul CRDi Specific 5w-40 from S&R.
Can't go wrong with either 30 or 40 weight, 30 weight can potentially give you more FE, 40 weight will potentially resist shear longer.
2.) Motul Multi ATF from Autoplus
You'll see that it meets Hyundai Red-1 specs here:

Ganda ng Motul no?
*whistler, oo nga boss, iba takbo ng GS pag naka Motul, yung personal ko lang na GS ang naka Motul sa amin, just reached 5k km with that oil, nung tinignan ng mekaniko sabi nya, boss, bago pa yung langis ah!
