^the service life of a battery begins the moment those plates get into contact with the electrolytes, not when you attach it to your car

Maintenance free batteries made in china will reach our shores much sooner than those made in india because those items are ferried thru boats not airplanes. Its risky and more expensive to transport those batteries by air.

Hence, locally manufactured batteries are better because you can buy and utilize it much sooner than those that came from overseas fresh from the manufacturer

Well i can attest that with our Hyundai Eon before. Which is built in India with Amaron stock battery than our Vios with Motolite that was made here in Sta. Rosa.
The amaron really last longer than the Motolite. Kahit pa yung Excel yan.

    Three things come to mind.

One, Motolite inventory levels may be high compared to imported brands. Their batteries may spend months sitting in inventory (be it at the manufacturer's, distributors or retailers) hence affecting lifespan.

Two, they may still be using recycled plates. Years ago I noticed that plates on brand new Motolites had rounded corners compared to the much sharper plate corners on imported brands. I don't think the imported brands recycle old batteries sold here. They will have to have them shipped to their factory which will be costly.

Finally, current Motolite batteries may not be the same quality as your dad's Motolite.

I personally dont just measure the battery service life in terms of months, but also in terms of distance travelled

My mirage with low maintenance stock battery made by hitachi from thailand lasted me over 3 years or 20000km before it gave up on me

I wanted to replace it with the same low maintenance batt but i just replaced it with lowest end maintenance free motolite. i just took note of the RC which is 89 minutes, just to give it a try. I have experienced low maintenance anyway and i have no problem topping up the cells myself. I collect rain water for that purpose

Im very much aware that i have that much time left to reach the nearest gas station should my alternator fail before my battery goes dry

^so far with my motolite experience, it has served me for12months or 6000km and the last battery check from the dealership battery tester registered full bar in terms of health

If an amaron can show me their reserved current capacity, ill give it a try, if not, i wont bother at all

Malamang nadale ka ng "old stock" effect. When buying low maintenance battery ask the seller when was the battery manufactured?

Lalo na kung nasa probinsya ka

Let me just add that stocks on the store room are more likely fresher than those you can find on the shelf

Its natural for the seller to push out their old stocks to some unsuspecting customers before they display those freshly delivered by the manufacturer

Again, the service life of a battery is best described as DECAYING. Proper selection, utlilization and care will make it last long, but it will still die a natural death at some point in time

Hi guys got our HARI GS na. Na-release siya last thursday, 30 March 2017 sa Hyundai Pasig.

May promo ngayon sa Starex. Pwede ka mamili either 100k discount or accessories. Pinili namin accessories. Knowing nga na bare ang HARI Units compared sa grey market.

    - Leather Seat Covers
    - Side Mirror LED Repeaters
    - 2 DIN HU with Headrest Monitors
    - Door Visors

As the other peeps who owns hari units said, May power folding mirrors nga siya. As expected walang steering wheel controls

    Headrest Monitors.

Drivers side Windows, Door locks & Mirror Controls.

Euro-4 pala siya. Akala ko Euro-5 na.
