Agree with you on that bro... Mas madaling ilagay ang mga grocery items... At iwas sagi pa sa mga sides, whether sa iyo o sa katabi mo... Common courtesy....
I like to use our other van for our grocery activities... Dahil pop-out rear glass window siya vs. the GS's whole rear door... Kaya madaling mag-stack ng grocery items sa aming other van...
Ang aga mo na naman!...

Hehehe! Was prepping for work at the time of posting. 5am to 2pm "shift".
Aside from the grocery runs, which is not too common with the GS since I usually bring the Prado dahil ako lang naman ang mamimili, I park forward when I'm expecting to put in shopping bags or use the kids' strollers. Tama nga, para iwas sabit sa gilid -- which is common courtesy alot of *$$holes forget. Plus, being generously built also requires this for easy loading.
The Vanette is your other van, bro?
Yup,- only the mid/high end SUVs have it...
It is so practical for stacking things and so vehicle manufacturers should consider making it a feature of their rides, especially vans, as you need to open the (whole) rear door just to put things at the back.... I have always observed with amusement, people stacking things in their vans/SUVs...

I remember that in the absence of a pop-up rear glass window, one of the better ways to stack the back of the van is to fold the rear seats and begin stacking the items to your heart's delight.
And then, bring the rear seat back up and stack some more (again to your heart's delight).
Can't be done conveniently with the fixed bench of our TCi GS... Sadly... You have to go over the rear seat .....
Of course,- nobody at any circumstance should open the rear door... :police:

I can't remember where I posted this -- not sure if it's on this board or on Fuel Talk. Anyhow, dito ko na lang ilalagay, since this is where we usually converge.
I was a bit in panic yesterday morning when I was driving the family to Mass. As I would usually do - we got into the GS, I started it, waited about half a minute, and drove off. Being parked at Basement 4, there are 4 ramps to climb to get to the street. I was surprised with the lousy response on the first ramp. Had my foot to the floor, but then the GS was just normally climbing -- no quick rev, no tire slip. Hmmm... So I did the same on the 2nd ramp and got the same response. The 3rd ramp was slightly better. By the 4th ramp, I already had troubled thoughts. But then, when we were horizontal and a few meters away from the building, it was merrily revving.
WTF?! After mass, since there is a bit of an incline where I parked, I tested it, and it worked fine! Tried it on Ortigas Ave coming from Medical City, and it was climbing like it wanted more. So when I got home, after unloading the family, before parking it, I decided to test it on the ramps again. It was climbing much faster than earlier on. When I'd floor it, half way up the ramp, I'd feel the rear tires trying to put up a fight -- not really spinning, but slipping a bit -- with the torque kicking in.
This morning, it was being its slow self again. It would improve on each ramp until I got out of the building. Then it would be ready to go wild.
Though I believe diesels take a bit of time to really warm up, I do not recall it being this sluggish from the get go. The only thing different I recall having done was loading it up with Total's Low Sulfur diesel last Sunday (Mar 3) night. Used it Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week and didn't notice this.
Any ideas?
i notice something similar yesterday. i got back to PI yesterday at 6am (from indonesia) and my wife picked me up from the airport using the sorento. got home, took a shower then took out the GS as we have to go to zambales for my grandfather's "pa-siyam" or 9th day prayers. i had already warmed up the GS (it took the wife some minutes to come down, as usual). i noticed a sluggishness of the GS. i asked my wife where she gassed up, tinamad daw siya pumunta sa unioil so she filled up at shell congressional. i filled up from 1/4 tank to 3/4 tank at unioil (1/2 tank ang usual consumption ko back and forth to san antonio). at mindanao avenue hesitant pa din ang engine, until we got to the merge from mindanao to the nlex main. di ko pa din mahataw ng husto, medyo bitin. this went on until pass marilao na. siguro by that time the shell and unioil diesels had already thoroughly mixed and the ecu adjusted accordingly, ayun di na siya hesitant.
papunta sa subic 145kph sa nlex, 150-160 kph sa sctex. i was expecting to be flagged down at nlex exit kasi the guy in the nlex patrol before pulilan exit pointed at us hahaha, wala naman pumara sa akin sa dau. going home 170kph on sctex, then 140kph at nlex. na-traffic lang kami sa candaba viaduct, may 8 car collision sa left lane.
So it was the Shell diesel that wasn't working for you, bro? And the Euro IV that seems to have worked?
In my case, the GS had been on a non-Low Sulfur diesel diet ever since. There was once, about a year ago as per my records, that I filled up with Total Low Sulfur diesel. Did not recall having the same hesitation then. Might just be bad fuel. Still have over 3/4 tank to go. Can't wait to change to either of my usual Petron or Caltex.
I experienced the same slow initial acceleration yesterday on the way up the basement parking of the office building. Though by the time I was out, the GS was raring to go. This is different from my non-CRDi Prado who has been as spritely from the get-go as before despite being on the same tankful of Low Sulfur diesel but from a different Total station.
I would think it could point to Diesel quality of the specific station at the time of fill up, or a dirty fuel filter. But what puzzles me is once warmed up, it's as rev happy as before. Hmmm...
the front aircon has been weak for the past few uses of the GS, naka #4 na ang setting e mahina pa din ang buga. so i decided to clean the filter. here is the procedure for aircon filter cleaning /replacement, para dun sa mga mahilig mag-DIY...
1. open the lower glove compartment, remove contents
2. notice the 2 tabs on the side of the glove compartment. from the outside press the tabs inward with a flat head screw driver and slide toward you. the tab has a rubber bumper than you can then press inward, this allows the glove compartment to drop.
3. open the filter cover by turning the knob on the left hand side of the cover. pull outwards to reveal 2 filter cartridges.
4. pull out the 1st filter, then slide to the left the 2nd filter before pulling out.
you can then clean the filter. put some water and detergent in a vat (batcha sa tagalog, yung gamit ng lavandera) and soak for a few minutes. then shake it under the water to get rid of the dust, then rinse using a water hose. repeat as much as 2-3 times, using a fresh batch of water and detergent each time. put the 2 filters in the washing machine spin dryer and spin dry for 2-3 minutes.
or you can just buy a new one
5. clean inside the filter housing with a damp cloth. install back the filter cartridges. note there is an arrow on the filter indicating the air flow direction, which should be from top to bottom.
6. install back the filter cover.
7. just push close the glove compartment. the tabs will automatically lock into place.
after ko nilinis yung filters balik na ulit sa dati yung lakas ng aircon blower.
it took me only 15 minutes. magkano kaya na-save ko kagabi? siguro sa casa P1000 na labor only!
