Hello. I know old thread. But since 2018 na, Baka meron ng makasagot.
Matagal ko na to problema sa 2009 1.8s ko. Yung toktoktok sound sa front right passenger side banda na gulong.
Common daw ito pero wala talagang naka solve. 2010 ko pa ata ito nirereklamo.
May naka solve na ba? Bump stop ba? Metal to metal kasi pag nalubak habang lumiliko. Toktoktok
Spare care nalang si civic. Less than 1k kilometers per year. Sana maayus na yung toktoktok sound niya sa harap. Plano ko imodify soon. Matulin parin tumakbo. And napakaganda parin idrive. The interior has not aged a bit.

CV Joint/Rack End?
Are your modded tire/wheel combination rubbing against the fender pag nalubak?
Hmmm I don’t think its the rack end or cv joint. 15k palang odo lumabas na yung tunog. 50k na siya ngayon. The sound is consistent. Di siya nag worse. Minsan nga nawawala.
Suspect ko talaga bump stop niya. Pero hanggang di pa sure di ko muna papatingin sayang sa oras kasi.
Nope, no rubbing.
Btw, when I floor the gas, steering pulls to the right.

Wala pang napalitan. Engine support lang napalitan. [emoji1303]

i'm thinking of replacing the transmission support/mount.
i've already replaced the original engine support/mount before w/ another oem part from the casa and i'm thinking of doing the same w/ the tranny support. how much do they cost nowadays for the fd2?
or if there's a replacement part available out there in the market, i may opt for this instead since i'm guessing it would be half the price of the oem.

Is this worth it?
2008 Manual with 12xxxx mileage for 320k.
Car is in good condition with minor dents and wear and tear as per the mechanic. Thanks!
^ is it the 1.8 s or the 1.8 v?
check the power steering system. that's the problematic ailment of the 1.8 civics. pwede pang leverage iyan for haggling
while you're at it, ask the owner about the engine support too. sakit din iyan ng fd

If that's the one situated nearest to the ground at the center, there is no reason to change that unless basag/lusaw na yung goma.
I got an aftermarket part for around P1,200 at Banawe if I remember correctly. Labor was something like P250. The reason mine had to be replaced was because I had a power steering leak and the PSF ruined the rubber parts of the mount. Even as the ruined part looked really bad, there was very little improvement in engine vibration after replacing it. I don't know, but yours could be in worse condition than mine at the time I replaced it so your mileage may vary.
Good luck.
^ i'm referring to the tranny mount bro. It's situated on the driver side, beneath the air filter box.
I think i already replaced that several years ago even though the car is eps equipped. I think i had it changed together w/ the upper engine mount located on the passenger side. I'll just check my records to verify.
Tnx for the tip and the insights!
Btw, do you happen to know how many engine & transmission supports are there on the civic?
do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do

Sorry, the part I posted earlier is called the lower torque rod. You are right - this part is usually referred to as the transmission mount.
This part rarely gets replaced. But I had it replaced too after seeing that it was "basag" as it had a vertical tear/cut along the rubber bushing. Bottom line - waste of money (P1.4k). It didn't make things any smoother or quieter.
If you really want reduced vibrations, replace the upper front (the one that commonly breaks) engine mount with the fluid-filled OEM. That's the single best part at reducing engine vibrations. The rest don't contribute that much. But of course, the OEM part will easily set you back 4x the cost of the solid rubber replacements (P1.6k) that last 2x longer than the OEM part. You really have no choice but to live with the somewhat harsher vibrations of the cheaper replacement if you are not willing to pony up the difference in price.
There are technically four engine support parts going by part numbers:Btw, do you happen to know how many engine & transmission supports are there on the civic?
1. Upper torque rod/damper - connected to left engine mount
2. Left engine mount
3. Lower torque rod/damper
4. Right engine mount (or transmission mount)

I already replaced parts 1 & 2. Part # 3 i don't recall eh. As for the tranny mount wala pala talaga
Actually wala naman vibrations or thudding noises when i accelerate. I just noticed the other day that the engine moves whenever the gears shifts to d to n to r ( i just had an atf change so minanipulate ng mechanic iyong shifter sa garahe namin while i was watching). So naisip ko lang baka it's time to change the aforementioned part
Btw, Sabi ni migs of speedyfix sa experience nya parang mas matagal ang buhay ng mga engine & tranny support ng mga fd2 compared sa mga fd1
do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do
That’s actually a symptom that the transmission support is for replacement na. Usually yan tinitignan ng mga mechanic pag palitin na ang tranny support, kung umuuga makina while shifting from P to D and vice versa. I agree with the guy above, no improvement sa vibration pero usually ramdam mo smoother shifts after replacing that support.
