From the mechanic na gumawa sa FD ng mga officemates ko, trusted expert Honda mechanic in Sta Rosa Laguna, expect 5 to 6 years life for the power steering before it will need to be overhauled again.

after 142k + kms, bumigay na din iyong 3 diodes ng alternator ko nuong isang araw. it was a relatively easy fix but it made me wonder though if my 2.0's alternator is different from the 1.8's. iba naman siguro kasi ang load and requirements ng mga makina namin

At least.. Wala ka issues ng PS

Ilang beses ko nanaman pinag iisipan if I will get a used pre-MMC '07-'08 FD 2.0S-L. Nabitin ako sa ownership experience kasi sa totoo lang. Medyo high mileage na pala yung sa iyo, anu-ano na mga naexperience mong nasira?

^ We have a pre MMC and an MMC 1.8S.

Go get the MMC if you want to scratch the itch, malayo yung NVH. Kaso downgrade sa ibang specs yung MMC 2.0S vs the 2.0S-L

Yung pre MMC, early batch 06 with 60+K kms ito na yung napalitan
    1. ES x3
    2. PS Hoses
    3. Aircon (pinaayos lang)
    4. Front shocks
    5. Dead front right speaker
    6. Medyo may kabig that I can't pinpoint at the moment
    7. 1 set of tires

I have a friend na bumili ng used na 1.8S ('06) sa isa naming friend way back 2013. In the end nag sisi lang

    1. All shocks pinalitan agad
    2. PS bumigay
    3. Rear bearing hub both sides bumigay

He bought the FD for 370K and sold it for 260K lang, sira ang PS that time. Hindi na napatino eh. Sayang. 3 months lang tumagal yun FD.

Kaya parang mas gusto ko 2.0S-L para kahit papano makawala sa PS issues. It was a nightmare kasi ako yun tumulong sa friend ko na ipaayos yun FD.

iyon ang sure na no problem re power steering issues

ang napalitan naman sa akin iyong usual wear and tear stuff for a car w/c has travelled so much tulad ng stab link, tie rod, rack end, front shocks

also iyong left front speaker bumigay na din along w/ the cd delivery system of the hu. kaya nagkaroon ng reason para mag-upgrade finally

btw, may suki sa laguna na shop for the power steering woes ang mga tiga team fd. name ng shop benmawi and i think it's in binan

General Malvar Street. Sa kanila rin nakuha yung tip na expect the PS to require major work every 5 to 6 years. Known issue. He used to be the QA of Honda plant, real expert on Honda, kaya sulit mag pagawa sa kanila.

Ganyan din sa akin before. Had it looked at sa Frigid Zone. In my case, yung blower motor may problema. I think that that it may be due to worn out carbon brushes. The motor is sealed so the only thing to do is replace it.

Check it out na lang: https://www.facebook.com/FrigidZoneAutoAirconShop

I went to their Congressional Ave. branch. I've forgotten the amount I paid. I may be wrong but I think it's around P2,500 or whereabouts. Better call them for a quote. Or better still, have them diagnose it. Although somewhat unlikely, it's still possible that the problem is with the speed controller.

posible may recall or "preventive measure" ang fd niyo due to the takata scandal. i just checked my chassis/frame number and it is covered by honda's precautionary measure. i'd have to call it in by tomorrow

Seems like all FDs are included.

Pati lahat ng CRV, Jazz, City made during that time period.

Wala yung Accord? Maybe uses a higher class of airbags hehe.

Im in dilemma of choosing which. An FD 2009 MMC MT from a direct seller and first owned. Has a 33k mileage. Problem is till 3rd year lang yung casa records. While the FD 2010 AT with 55k mileage is from a car dealer with up to date casa records. last casa service was just a few months ago. both the same price. Which is the way to go? I like the MT but I'm in doubt baka meron ng mga issues like being flooded and likes since hindi na updated yung service records.

Honda Civic FD Body [continued]
