1. I assume that both "DOOR" and "ON" switch selections don't work?
2. Was there anything done to the car prior to having this issue?
3. Follow the troubleshooting procedure here: Ceiling Light Test/Replacement
4. The circuit diagram can be found here: Interior Lights Circuit Diagram
5. Ultimately, you're looking for continuous B+ (12V) across the Light-Blue wire and chassis ground. If there's power there, the problem is likely with the dome light assembly. Once you've removed it in Step 3, inspect the bulb terminals, traces, and the mechanical switch if they're making proper contact.
6. If the problem is not with the dome light assembly, you will have to check the harnessing. Refer to the diagram here: Roof Wire Harness Locations
Needless to say, you'll at least need basic tools (flat and Philips head) and a multimeter/multitester.

I still try to do troubleshooting on my own wherever and whenever I can.
It's just too bad there's not much literature about the 1st Gen Innova as detailed as the one available for the Civic. Well, there is.... but they're incomplete and not in english. There's only so much Google Translate can do.

Done troubleshooting this last night and have partially solved the problem. I had to find a voltage tester to isolate the cause in the dome light assembly itself. Opened it, and found some melted/scraped plastic over the middle metal of the switch. Tried to clean the metal, but the middle metal seems to be not in ideal condition as the "door" auto option is still glitchy. But still good since I can now switch the dome light on and off.
Anyways, thanks for the help! I also wanna develop the skills for working on my car, even with the small glitches.

November 20th, 2019 05:27 PM #1177Question lang mga boss..I have seldom used 2006 Honda Civic with 52165 km mileage, last change oil Neto was Apr 2016 with 44,568 km mileage using fully synthetic oil, thinking of doing a change oil but when we checked out the quality of the oil in the engine it was still golden yellow and from the looks of it is still in excellent condition. My mechanic said that it's my call if I want to change or not. Thinking of using semi synthetic the next time I change oil. My dilemma is
1 should I change oil knowing that the engine's fully synthetic oil is still up to par.
2 is it wise to throw away the fully synthetic oil and use semi synthetic.
3 do I need to use fully synthetic oil even if the car is seldom used . It is used for city driving only in the province with.

Yes, change the oil. Especially if it's been doing predominantly short trips (average 150 km per month since Apr. 2016).
If you continue to drive it like that, I would change the oil every year, if it were me. Well, it should be every 6 months if you follow by the book. But with your specific case, I think it will do 1 year OCI just fine. I'll use fully-synth, though, as they fare better with longer time-based OCIs.
