What is the telltale sign/s that would distinguish a real SiR from a Civic Vti? I've been seeing a lot of SiRs lately and there could only be two reasons:
    1. Those are the real ones, which I doubt, SiRs I think came in limited numbers a couple of years ago

    2. Some of them are rice boys who stick the SiR emblem on their cars to make their cars look fast.

If I am a buyer, what would I look for aside from the SiR emblem? Just curious....

Meron nga yata sunburst yellow but Im not sure if its a real SiR (DOHC 160HP)... Meron ding Ruby Red (I saw one sa Honda service bay), same red shade nung 99 model Civic.

Ang last na nilabas is yung sunburst yellow. Dalawa klase nun... meron VTi (with SOHC) and SIR (w/ DOHC)

although mas nauna nilabas yung Formula red na SiR kaysa dun sa Sunburst yellow. Ito rin yung pinaka limited SiR sofar kase wala sya equivalent na VTi sa kulay.

Walang SiR na Ruby Red. Probably it's a Vti with SiR emblems na dinikit. Formula Red (a brighter shade than Ruby red) yung nilabas na SiR.

Ang nilabas lang na colors ay:
    Passion Orange
    Tafetta White
    Nighthawk Black Pearl
    Formula Red
    Sunburst Yellow

nakalimutan ko rin ilagay sa list above...

SiR and VTi has the Power antenna. SiR has the DOHC VTEC sticker sa rear doors.

i guess the hardest to copy from the Vti's endpoint are the rear discs and stab bars. If you can open the hood, things are a lot lot easier.....

transplant nalang ng 2k2 crv engine sa ES civic

kasya yan kasi K20 block naman ang makina ng V, same block ng civic Si sa states.

New Civic ES *SHOULD* be moving to the K20 platform, although I wouldn't know what HCPI's plans are. I'm thinking eventually the local market will get the K20 because the older D15s and D17s are nearing the end of their production life. Probably after new taxation laws come into effect that don't automatically slap a heavy tax for having 2.0li of displacement.

not necessarily... meron na rin kase yung rear discs sa surplus... I know this civic owner once na akala mo SIR talaga pero pag bukas mo hood LXi engine pala. Kuhang kuha yung exterior everything from decals to emblems pati rear discs hehe.

eto yung Thailand K20 equipped Civic:

Too bad it's a 2 Liter kaya for sure mahirap ipasok yan dito sa pinas. With the current unresolved tax systems , Kung ilabas man baka nasa 1Million na yan and malamang wala na bibili
