Mga bossing, baka may marerekomenda kayong trusted mekaniko na pwede ko i-tag along na marunong kumilatis ng mga SiR units..pa-pm na lang po. Newbie po kasi ako sa kotse, at lalo na sa Honda units. TIA!

Good if you get one in stock trim... bad only it you get one that's been raced and crashed...

Seriously, though, who's saying it's a bad car? The interior may not be as loaded as other top-of-the-line cars of its time, but controls are all easy to use, the AC is decent, suspension is supple and not too stiff, engine is very durable and the looks are nice.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Aside from lower fuel economy compared to the VTi (understandable, and actually not bad considering the engine's amazingly high redline and 160+ hp), there's absolutely nothing wrong with a Civic SiR when compared to any 1.6 sedan of the same time period. Secondhand value is very high because of the power and longevity of the engines, though.

    Pros:

    - No direct competitor here
    - Quick and nice-sounding engine, especially with racing filter change
    - Chassis a perfect balance of ride and handling

    Cons:

    - Torque? What's that?
    - Brakes not as powerful as engine, let alone no ABS
    - No airbags as well
    - Hard to find a unit that wasn't modified and/or raced

Try to find a model that's owned by an older person. Some people bought the SiR simply because it's the top Civic, with no intention of racing.

B16 engine 100bhp/liter (not may engines can do that)
    4 wheel disc brakes
    sport suspension

    It's a 4 door sportscar.

D-series ba ang VTi sa Pinas? If so, there is a $2,000 difference when buying a surplus engine between the D-series and the B16

makina ang pinakamalaking factor kung bakit mahal ang SiR kumpara sa VTi or LXi. AFAIK, SiR is comparable to the 2.0 trim of the 8th gen.

it has a standard B16 engine
    -that's DOHC 1.6L 16valve 160HP
    -4wheel disc brakes
    -15" 6spoke alloys
    -195/55R15 tires
    -CD player
-available in rather funky looking colors too.

naging mahal din yan kc konte lng lumabas.. mejo naging limited edition and sought after by many because of the engine and suspension it has... kung baga sa economics-- demand is high but supply is low kaya mahal ang SiR....

Aftermarker tuners also have A LOT of items for modifying the car, it has that much potential to become better performance wise. Only problem is when you have too much power, malakas yung torque steer sa front wheels pag hinataw.

Compared sa Vti, masmababa ba yung vtec point ng SiR? If so I guess that makes it more desirable.

VTEC engagement point of a VTi engine is around 3300-3500rpm
For an SiR, it's around 5000+rpm
