i never said it wasn't a genuine SiR, i merely pointed out that it has been repainted.
SiR's differences from VTi/LXi
1. obviously the engine is larger, manual transmission, with a sway bar on top
2. steering wheel stitched with red thread
3. the tachometer reaches 9,000 rpm
4. the seats are suede with patterns in the middle, not the gray corduroy type in VTi/LXi
5. the rims are 15" 7-spoke enkei alloy mags
6. it has a maplight beside the rearview mirror
7. the grill is mesh type with a mounted H in the middle
8. it has 4 wheel disc brakes
check the original CR. you'll see there if the engine has been changed, i think.

The only way to tell is to test drive several units and see which ones behave differently (have lower vtec, sound throatier, etc) kasi it seems these days modding has become discreet kaya di halata.
If you look at service records, and notice that the intervals are shorter for replacing particular items, you'll know they wear out sooner and may have been raced. Then again, that may also show preventive maintenance by the owner.
Ramdaman mo yung clutch, yon usually yung first na bibigay na medyo major item to replace. Clutches can last quite a while, my dad used the original one since 1999 up to May 2006 and had moderate engine mods magmula 2004. He said it started slipping already by around early 2006 or late 2005, so he replaced it with a racing clutch. With normal driving, however, you can still retain that clutch for a few more years.

nakakapag taka naman kasi mga ibang SiR. 1999 pero 50k palang mileage. kadalasan kasi dpat nasa 120k+ siguro. unless madami siya tsikot. or di siya lumalabas ng bahay.

If you were to buy one presently (2007) how much would you shell out?
Is it still worth it to buy a stock SiR with 100k in mileage?

100k mileage... depends on how good the condition of the engine is.
At 350k to 450k, prices are pretty good. I'd still pay about 400k if it were in pristine condition (no kalampag, smooth idle, clutch and transmission in good condition.).
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

September 12th, 2007 08:59 AM #120very good resale value.
I have seen a lot of Honda civic SiR for sale recently as a few months ago.
Prices have gone down to below 350K, some even at 330K.
SiR suspension was supposedly a lot stiffer and lower than standard Vti.
I don't have proof but it seems like the CRV shrank from the previous generation.
