Im not so sure about the broken-in mileage stage. Personally didn't see it in the manual. Maybe 10K kms would be safe enough but don't be afraid to make spirited runs every now and then, kahit na wala pang 10K kms, as long as the engine and tires are up to temp you'll be fine.
Don't be too sad about the fuel economy indications. The mileage will get better over time.
Here are some things that might help you (as they do mine. No harm in trying them out):
- fully synthetic 0w20 SN engine oil, Honda or others
-
setting the tires to 35psi (when cold), 33psi (when warm). If too stiff for you, bawas lang.
- k&n high flow, reusable filters (cabin and engine). Tried these after purchasing filters from Honda and, for the money, bawing-bawi sa k&n in the long run. Just maintain em every now and then. Honda-marked cabin filter is around P2500, engine around P1300. Ordered from US for 1.5T variant -$45 engine air filter, $40 cabin filter, recharger/cleaning kits $10 for cabin filter, $15 for engine air filter. There are some local sellers with fair pricing also. For the way and where I drive the RS, the stock air filter is almost black-ish everywhere around 3K kms or so, with the 1.8, I think you can do better.
- changing cvt fluid at 20K kms or earlier, maybe yearly (around P1.8K to P2.1K lang ata sya last time), strictly honda HCF-2.
- smoother throttling and braking
- A/C set to 26 or 27 degrees, hanggang maaari. Pero kung naiinitan na kayo, walang magagawa. hahahha. Unless kaya pang bawiin sa higher fan setting.
- removing unnecessary cargo
- trying to lose personal weight
