Any concerns against CVT? What tranny would be better for the Civic?

Some people here are reading too much car reviews ... without actually having to drive the actual vehicle(s) ... Even then they have already set their mind on the opinion of reviewers when they test drive ...

Waiting for 12k so I can service and get it replaced by honda. Pretty sure it is covered under 3 year warranty.
Same here. For now, I consider it as "normal"

Thinking of getting the extended 5-year warranty. Mukang madaming magiging future problems etong 10th gen.

Will probably sell it after 5 years.

    RE: CVT

I love the CVT sa Civic, for me it doesn't feel like a CVT nga eh hehe.

no need to get the extended warranty. imo

civic is reliable. out of the 1000 plus filipino owners, only 1 is reporting a steering issue. I havent checked the civic forums.

Unfortunately sa FB groups like FCBois there are quite a few already.

Meron din dalawa may electronic parking brake problem. Medyo hassle kase di ma-disengage.

If naka D/R, it will disengage if you step on the accelerator, just like the auto brake hold.

Anyway, pareho ba rating and size ng battery na pinalitan mo? The critical number to look for here is not only the reserve capacity (measured in ampere hours or AH) but the cold cranking amps (CCA) as well. Make sure that the new battery matches or slightly exceeds the specs of the original battery. I think the original is 47 AH with 410 CCA.

If the battery has the correct specs and was tested good, make sure that the battery terminal connections and the ground wire to the body were all reinstalled properly and tightly.

If your original battery lasted only a year, there may be other issues with your car's electrical system that's causing rapid battery wear. Did you install any electrical mods or aftermarket accessories?

hi Sir, thank you. I will make it as referrence the figures (batt specs) that you mentioned, i am planning to brinng the car back to casa this weekend.

at present, after i had the ecu reset, medyo ok naman and starting and idling nya pero i dunno, medyo parang me iba talaga compared to before. Ibabalik ko sa casa and perhaps let them use a different battery this time, we'll see, hopefully maayos na.

yes, i bought mine feb 2017, i dunno sir, maybe i am wrong, walag auto lock feature eh, basta ang ginawa ko, i bought from an online seller (kingz accezz) this module that will be attached sa obd port para me autolock, hazard lights during reverse and opened doors. Aside from that no electrical mods na..all stock.

by the way , same size din yung battery na nabili ko, motolite gold. Hoping na by asking for a service battery for purposes lang na macompare talaga sya, madiagnose na talaga what could be wrong.

thanks agaid sir for your inputs.

Ah ok. Then your model is technically the 2016 model although released in early 2017. The real 2017 models were advertised in March and were released beginning late May the same year. It had a P10k price increase over the 2016 model but came with two added features: power folding side mirrors and speed-sensing door locks.

at present, after i had the ecu reset, medyo ok naman and starting and idling nya pero i dunno, medyo parang me iba talaga compared to before.
Ano yun? Rough idling? Malikot RPM? Nanginginig na parang palyado?

Remove your OBD II device before you bring it in. Good luck bro.

    hi all,
i have the old civic FD and the new FC. i think the FD feels more like the old civics which have more road feel and the drivers feel connected to the road. there is a down side to this, on rough roads, the car feels very stiff.
the FC departs from this. my FC is super numb and the rough roads dont feel rough at all. however i do think the shocker has very little movement as the shocks often feels like its bottoming out. Also with the engine witched on, i can hardly hear any fan, engine or ac compressor noise. with the FD, i can hear alot of fan noise specially when the compressor turns on... overall, the car is great and feels very comfort with the CVT and refined driving.

You can further reduce road noise by changing your tires.

Mas maingay yun Hankook Ventus if you have the E variant.

I got the E also but replaced it with the RS mags with the Yokohama Advan DB. It's very quiet! Sadly walang Yokohama DB locally pala.

Same experience with my Mazda 3 and Civic.

The Mazda feels more involved and connected to the road, but is far less comfortable. It gets tiring if you drive long distances or in very heavy traffic.

The Civic FC still handles very well on the track even if it's devoid of feel compared to older sedans.

I jusy brought my FC at the casa and according to my service advisor, they will recommend it for gearbox replacement still under warranty. will have to wait for about 1-2 weeks for the parts.

I am told by the Honda advisor that if I change my mags, the warranty voids and I won't be able to cover the rack and pinion or any problem under warranty. Therefore you should keep your original incase something happens and you need to cover it under warranty

Sabi naman sakin sa Honda SPA na okay lang mag change mags if within specs.

I imagine that changing it to the RS mags is well within specs.
